2025 CrossFit Games
The 2025 CrossFit Games are the 19th edition of the competition in the sport of CrossFit, to be held from August 1 to August 3, 2025, in Albany, New York. The CrossFit Games will be held at MVP Arena in Albany this year after only a year at the Dickies Arena in Fort Worth, Texas. A number of changes have been made to the season, including the removal of the quarterfinals, and athletes move from the Open directly to the semifinals. Semifinalists can then qualify for the Games either via virtual in-affiliate semifinals or in-person qualifying events. The number of individual qualifiers has been reduced to 30, and the number of teams to 20. A new Community Cup was also introduced for those who did not qualify for the semifinals. The prize purse this year will come from 50% of the fees paid by Open entrants. MVP Arena (originally Knickerbocker Arena, and then the Pepsi Arena and Times Union Center) is an indoor arena located in Albany, New York. 2024 CrossFit Games
The 2024 CrossFit Games were the 18th edition of the premier competition in the sport of CrossFit, that was held from August 9 to August 11, 2024, in Fort Worth, Texas. The competition was won by James Sprague and Tia-Clair Toomey for the individuals, Raw Iron CrossFit Mayhem Thunder for the team. The CrossFit Games were held in the Dickies Arena in Fort Worth this season after 6 years in the Alliant Energy Center in Madison, Wisconsin. Due to the excessive summer heat in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex which may be unsuitable for competitive sport outdoors, most of the events were held indoors. There was no title sponsor for the Games for the first time since 2011, but there were two premier-level sponsors in GoRuck and Rogue Fitness. Dickies Arena
Dickies Arena is a 14,000-seat multipurpose arena, located within the Will Rogers Memorial Center in Fort Worth, Texas. The venue hosted a public ribbon cutting on October 26, 2019. Justin Medeiros
Justin Medeiros is an American professional CrossFit athlete. He is the winner of the 2021 and 2022 CrossFit Games. Early life Medeiros was born to Shanna and Anthony Medeiros from Lodi, California, and he has two sisters, Megan and Jessica. He was a student at Lodi High School where he was a wrestler and football player. He took up wrestling after encouragement from his parents as he was not athletic at the time. He started CrossFit when he was in seventh grade aged 12 in order to keep himself fit between sports seasons, but became more interested in the sport and dropped football for CrossFit after his high school sophomore year.
