2024 VBA Season
The 2024 VBA season () was the ninth season of the Vietnam Basketball Association. The regular season began on 19 June and ended on 11 September. The playoffs then began on 15 September, and ended on 28 September with the Saigon Heat clinching their 5th straight title after sweeping the Cantho Catfish in the Finals. The league lost a team after the Thang Long Warriors announced that they would sit out the season due to financial issues. In a move to help other teams dealing with financial woes, the league moved the operations for the Cantho Catfish, Danang Dragons and Nha Trang Dolphins to Ho Xuan Huong Arena in Ho Chi Minh City Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC) ('','' TP.HCM; ), commonly known as Saigon (; ), is the most populous city in Vietnam with a population of around 14 million in 2025. 2023 VBA Season
The 2023 VBA season () was the eighth season of the Vietnam Basketball Association. The regular season began on 10 June and ended on 3 September. The playoffs began on 7 September, and ended on 28 September, with the Saigon Heat clinching their 4th straight title after defeating the Nha Trang Dolphins in 4 games in the Finals. The regular season started with all seven teams playing a round-robin tournament at a centralized venue in Hanoi. The remainder of the regular season was played in the traditional home and away format. Teams All seven teams from the 2022 season continued on in 2023. Erik Olson (basketball)
Erik Artur Olson (Ohlson, Olsson) (Halmstad 9 May 1901 – 1986) was a Swedish painter, illustrator, graphic artist, sculptor, theater decorator, and member of Halmstadgruppen. He was the brother of artist Axel Olson, and in 1929 married Solvig Sven-Nilsson. Olson is represented, for example, at the National Museum and the Museum of Modern Art. Olson is known as a Swedish surrealist. He devoted himself to dream-like, over realistic artwork. Olson grew up in Halmstad. After school he started to work as a company copier. In the evenings he cultivated his main interest, drawing and painting, by studying at Halmstad Technical School. His father had hoped for the son to be an engineer, but Olson, as well as the two year older brother Axel Olson and cousin Waldemar Lorentzon, participated in 1919 in an amateur show in Halmstad secondary school. The Saigon Heat is a Vietnamese professional basketball team based in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam founded in 2016. It is the developmental team of the Saigon Heat. The team currently competes in the Vietnam Basketball Association, Vietnam's first professional basketball league.
