2024 PDC World Darts Championship
The 2024 PDC World Darts Championship (known for sponsorship reasons as the 2023/24 Paddy Power World Darts Championship) was a professional darts event that took place at Alexandra Palace in London, England, from 15 December 2023 to 3 January 2024. It was the 31st PDC World Darts Championship, World Darts Championship to be organised by the Professional Darts Corporation. Alexandra Palace
Alexandra Palace is an entertainment and sports venue in North London, situated between Wood Green and Muswell Hill in the London Borough of Haringey. A listed building, Grade II listed building, it is built on the site of Tottenham Wood and the later Tottenham Wood Farm. It was designed by John Johnson (architect, born 1807), John Johnson and Alfred Meeson. It opened in 1873 but following a fire two weeks after its opening, was rebuilt by Johnson. It was intended as "the People's Palace" and as such it is often referred to by the nickname "Ally Pally". Chris Dobey
Christopher Dobey (born 31 May 1990) is an English professional darts player who competes in Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) events, where he is currently ranked world number seven; he reached a peak ranking of world number six in 2025. A PDC Tour Card holder since 2015, Dobey has since won seven ranking Players Championship titles. Nicknamed "Hollywood", he won his first major title at the 2023 Masters, defeating Rob Cross 11–7 in the final. He is a one-time World Championship semi-finalist, reaching the last four at the 2025 PDC World Championship. Early life Dobey was born in Bedlington in 1990. 2023 PDC Pro Tour
The 2023 PDC Pro Tour was a series of non-televised darts tournaments organised by the Professional Darts Corporation (PDC). Players Championships and European Tour events are the events that make up the Pro Tour. There were thirty Players Championship events and thirteen PDC European Tour events, as well as 24 events for the Challenge and Development Tours, and the Women's Series. Prize money On 21 November 2022, it was announced that the prize money for the Women's Series will be doubled in 2023. The following day, it was announced that the prize money for Challenge/Development Tour events would also increase, with the prize fund going up from £10,000 to £15,000 per event. The PDC Order of Merit is a world ranking system used by one of the darts organisations, the Professional Darts Corporation (PDC). Following the 2007 PDC World Darts Championship it superseded a world ranking system based on points being awarded for performances in ranking tournaments. Russ Bray
Russ Bray (born 22 June 1957) is an English darts referee who works for the Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) as an ambassador. Known as "The Voice", due to his unique style of calling and his raspy voice, he was inducted into the PDC Hall of Fame in 2024. Russ previously worked as a police traffic officer. Bray stepped down from being a full-time referee following the 2023-24 PDC World Darts Championship final following a 28 year career. Daryl Gurney
Daryl Gurney (born 22 March 1986) is a Northern Irish professional darts player who competes in Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) events, where he is currently ranked world number twenty-five; he reached a peak ranking of world number three in 2019. Nicknamed "Superchin", he has won two PDC major singles titles: the 2017 World Grand Prix and the 2018 Players Championship Finals. Gurney also won the PDC World Cup of Darts in 2025, representing Northern Ireland alongside Josh Rock. He has won a total of six PDC titles in his professional career. Steve Beaton
Steve Beaton (born 5 April 1964) is an English former professional darts player who competes in World Seniors Darts (WSD) events. Nicknamed "the Bronzed Adonis", Beaton formerly formerly competed in British Darts Organisation (BDO), World Darts Federation (WDF) and Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) tournaments. He is a former BDO World Champion, having won the 1996 World Championship. He was ranked BDO world number one in 1993 and 1994. Before switching to the PDC in 2001, Beaton won the 1993 World Masters, the 1995 and 1996 Dutch Opens, and also achieved success in the WDF Europe Cup and WDF World Cup. 2010 PDC World Darts Championship
The 2010 Ladbrokes.com World Darts Championship was the 17th World Championship organised by the Professional Darts Corporation since it separated from the British Darts Organisation. The event took place at Alexandra Palace in London from 18 December 2009 and 3 January 2010. Phil Taylor successfully defended the title with a 7–3 victory over Simon Whitlock in the final.
