2024 Indonesian Film Festival
The 44th Indonesian Film Festival ceremony, presented by Indonesian Film Board and Ministry of Culture (Indonesia), Ministry of Culture, honored the achievement in Indonesian cinema released from 1 September 2023 to 31 August 2024. The ceremony was held on 20 November 2024 at the Indonesia Convention Exhibition, BSD City, Banten. Special award, Antemas Award, was set to be presented again this year after last being awarded at the 1992 ceremony. This award is given to the highest-grossing film. Romantic drama ''Falling In Love Like In Movies'' won the most awards with seven, including Citra Award for Best Picture, Best Picture and all four acting categories. Other winners included ''Samsara (2024 film), Samsara'' with four and ''Borderless Fog'' with three. The Indonesian Film Board (Indonesian language, Indonesian: ''Badan Perfilman Indonesia''; BPI) is an independent private institution responsible for cultivating a strong, competitive, and culturally impactful Cinema of Indonesia, film industry in Indonesia. It also serves as a platform for film organizations and professional associations across the country. Its primary duties and functions include organizing domestic film festivals, representing Indonesian cinema at international festivals, promoting Indonesia as a prime shooting location for foreign film productions to stimulate local film-related businesses, advising on industry development, recognizing film achievements, and facilitating funding for exceptional films which contribute to the national film culture. Lutesha Sadhewa (born 23 June 1994) is an Indonesian actress and model. Lutesha is an acronym for La Luna Tesha. She is the granddaughter of Indonesian diplomat and naval officer Idrus Nasir Djajadiningrat. Garin Nugroho Riyanto (born 6 June 1961) is an Indonesian film director. Biography Nugroho was born in Yogyakarta, Special Region of Yogyakarta on 6 June 1961. He was the fourth child of postal workers Soetjipto Amin and Mariah, who eventually had seven children. As a child, he attended an Islamic elementary school, later attending Catholic secondary schools. His father owned a lending library and enjoyed writing, leading Nugroho to start writing from a young age; he later quit writing because he felt his father to be too critical.
