USL W League
The USL W League (USLW) is a pre-professional women's soccer league in the United States which began play in May 2022. It was announced on June 8, 2021 by the United Soccer League with eight founding clubs. It follows the USL W-League, a similar league that existed from 1995 to 2015. At launch, the USL said the inaugural season would include at least 30 teams. History The league was originally announced with eight clubs, six of which would be women's sides for existing men's USL teams, and two of which would be entirely new franchises. The inaugural season began on May 6, 2022 with 44 teams. Lane United FC
Lane United FC is an American soccer club based in Eugene, Oregon. Founded in 2013, the team currently plays in USL League Two, the fourth tier of the American soccer pyramid. History 2013 Lane United was admitted into the USL Premier Development League on July 18, 2013. To raise local interest in the club, a team was quickly assembled for two friendlies during the late summer of 2013. The first match, held at South Eugene High School on July 18 saw the Reds lose to the Portland Timbers U23s, 0–3. The club then went on to earn its first victory against Southern Oregon Fuego 4–0 at Sheldon High School on August 23, with midfielder Loren Hill notching the club's first-ever goal. 2014 In early 2014, the club entered into an agreement to use the Willamalane Center in Springfield, Oregon as a home field through 2016. San Francisco Glens
San Francisco Glens Soccer Club, commonly known as SF Glens, is an American soccer club based in San Francisco that was founded in 1961. Their men's first team currently competes in USL League Two and women's first team in the USL W League, both in the fourth tier of the American Soccer Pyramid. Before establishing a USL League Two franchise in 2018, the Glens had been a longtime member of the San Francisco Soccer Football League (SFSFL) and were once affiliated with the San Francisco Seals' PDL team, which is now defunct. The Glens continue to field three SFSFL teams, but the USL League Two franchise is now the club's official first team. Since the hiring of Executive Director Mike McNeill, who also doubles as General Manager of the USL2 first team, the club has grown from just two local youth teams to the largest soccer club in San Francisco. FC Olympia, formerly Oly Town Artesians FC, is an American soccer club from Olympia, Washington. The Olympic Club is an athletic club and private social club in San Francisco, California. First named the "San Francisco Olympic Club", it is the oldest athletic club in the United States.
