2023 Damallsvenskan
The 2023 Damallsvenskan was the 36th season of the Swedish women's association football top division, Damallsvenskan. The league began on 24 March 2023, and ended on 11 November 2023. The league had an eight-week break between rounds 17 and 18 (9 July – 3 September) due to the 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup. Växjö DFF and IFK Norrköping were new teams for this season after being promoted from Elitettan. Eskilstuna were not granted a license and replaced in the league by Uppsala. Damallsvenskan
The Damallsvenskan, Swedish for ''ladies all-Swedish'' and also known as OBOS Damallsvenskan for sponsorship reasons, is the highest division of women's football in Sweden. It is also referred to as the women's Allsvenskan. The term Allsvenskan alone is used to reference the men's division. The division consists of a league of 14 teams. From 2013, the Damallsvenskan began operating on a system of promotion and relegation with the Elitettan. The two lowest placed teams are relegated to the Elitettan, and the two highest placed teams from the Elitettan are promoted in their place. Starting with the 2022 season the league has been expanded from 12 to 14 teams. The first Swedish women's national championship was played in 1973. Växjö DFF is a Association football, football club from Växjö, in Kronoberg County, Sweden. The club was established in 2014 and was promoted into the Women's Premier Division (Damallsvenskan) for the first time in 2017. The club play their home games at Myresjöhus Arena in Växjö. Grimsta IP
Grimsta IP is a multi-use stadium A stadium ( : stadiums or stadia) is a place or venue for (mostly) outdoor sports, concerts, or other events and consists of a field or stage either partly or completely surrounded by a tiered structure designed to allow spectators to stand o ... in Vällingby, Sweden. It is currently used for football matches and is the home stadium of IF Brommapojkarna. The stadium holds 5,000 people after the latest expansion. The latest expansion took place between 2015 and 2017 with the construction of the new stand that cost 57 million kronor, it includes also the construction of new locker rooms, a new press stand and a new bar. Hammarby IP
Hammarby IP (short for "''Hammarby Idrottsplats''", "Hammarby Sports Ground") also known as "Kanalplan", is a football stadium in Stockholm, Sweden. The current main tenant is the women's football team Hammarby IF. The stadium was officially opened by Gustaf VI Adolf, at the time the crown prince of Sweden in 1915. Renovation Due to Hammarby winning promotion to Damallsvenskan in 2014 season, it was unclear if Hammarby IF DFF still would play in Kanalplan. The stadium didn't meet the requirements for the top-tier league because of "bad condition of the field and the surrounding area". Malmö Idrottsplats ("Malmö sports field"), commonly referred to simply as Malmö IP and sometimes as Gamla IP ("The old sports field"), is a stadium in Malmö, Sweden, that is primarily used for association football. Djurgårdens IF (formerly Djurgården/Älvsjö (2003–2007)) is a football club from Stockholm, the capital of Sweden. KIF Örebro DFF is a Swedish women's football club based in Örebro. Founded in 1980 as the women's football section of multi-sports association Karlslunds IF, the club's first team currently plays in the Damallsvenskan, the top level of the women's football pyramid in Sweden.
