2021 French Green Party Presidential Primary
The 2021 Ecology primary took place on 19 and 28 September 2021 to nominate the candidate of the Ecologist Pole electoral coalition for the 2022 French presidential election. The primary was open to any French citizen over the age of 16, who paid a small fee and agreed to the coalitoin's charter. 122,670 voters were registered, which was 7 times more than in the 2016 primary, with over 85% taking part in the two rounds of voting. There were five candidates in the running: *Yannick Jadot *Sandrine Rousseau *Delphine Batho *Éric Piolle * Jean-Marc Governatori The first round was close, with 4 of the 5 candidates receiving over 20% of the vote. Jadot, the frontrunner, and Rousseau progressed to the second round, while the others were eliminated. Yannick Jadot
Yannick Jadot (; born 27 July 1967) is a French environmentalist and politician who has served as a Member of the European Parliament (MEP) since the 2009 European election, representing the West France constituency. Early career As an environmentalist and humanitarian, Jadot coordinated Greenpeace actions in France between 2002 and 2008, also heading the ''Alliance pour la planète'' and serving as a key player in the 2008 '' Grenelle Environnement'' talks. Political career In 2009, Jadot announced that he was leaving Greenpeace to lead the Europe Ecology list in the West France constituency in the 2009 European elections. History LCI was launched on 24 June 1994 by Christian Dutoit on behalf of the media group TF1 as a pay television channel. Its launch was also simulcast on TF1. France Inter () is a major French public radio channel and part of Radio France. It is a " generalist" station, aiming to provide a wide national audience with a full service of news and spoken-word programming, both serious and entertaining, liberally punctuated with an eclectic mix of music. Bobigny () is a commune, or town, in the northeastern suburbs of Paris, Île-de-France, France. It is located from the centre of Paris. The Citizenship, Action, Participation for the 21st Century (french: Citoyenneté, action, participation pour le e siècle) was a minor green liberal political party in France, founded by Corinne Lepage in 1996 as a political reflection club. It became a political party in June 2000. Lepage was the party's candidate in the 2002 presidential election and obtained 1.88% of the vote. Lepage claimed to stand for an independent and centrist green voice, as opposed to Noël Mamère, candidate for the more left-wing Green Party. The party later refused to join the new centre-right Union for a Popular Movement (UMP). Corinne Dominique Marguerite Lepage (born 11 May 1951) is a French politician. She served as French Minister of the Environment in the Alain Juppé cabinets 1 and II 1995–1997 and as Member of the European Parliament (MEP) 2009–2014 for the North-West constituency. Ecofeminism is a branch of feminism and political ecology. Ecofeminist thinkers draw on the concept of gender to analyse the relationships between humans and the natural world.
