2020 Toronto Machete Attack
On 24 February 2020, a Misogynist terrorism, misogynistic terrorist attack took place in an erotic spa in Toronto, Toronto, Canada. A 17-year-old youth fatally attacked a woman with a machete before being restrained by the owner of the spa, who was also injured. The perpetrator's motive was later revealed to be misogynistic incel ideology. He was sentenced to life imprisonment with no chance of parole for 10 years. Attack Surveillance video showed the perpetrator leaving his home by foot towards the Crown Spa, which was less than two kilometres from his home. At the spa he drew a 17-inch sword and killed receptionist Ashley Arzaga. The sword was engraved with the words "thot slayer" (thot is a slang word for a sexually promiscuous woman, similar to "whore.") 2021 Atlanta Spa Shootings
On March 16, 2021, a shooting spree occurred at two spas and a massage parlor in the metropolitan area of Atlanta, Georgia, United States. Eight people were killed and a ninth was wounded. The suspect, 21-year-old Robert Aaron Long, was taken into custody later that day. Long pleaded guilty to the charges and was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole. Long told police he was motivated by a sexual addiction that was at odds with his Christianity, for which he had spent time in an evangelical treatment clinic, and that he had been targeting establishments where he had previously paid for sex.
