2020 Monte Carlo Rally
The 2020 Monte Carlo Rally (also known as the 88e Rallye Automobile Monte-Carlo) was a motorsport, motor racing event for rallying, rally cars that was held over four days between 23 and 26 January 2020. It marked the eighty-eighth running of the Monte Carlo Rally, and was the first round of the 2020 World Rally Championship, 2020 World Rally Championship-2, World Rally Championship-2 and 2020 World Rally Championship-3, World Rally Championship-3. 2020 World Rally Championship
The 2020 FIA World Rally Championship was the forty-eighth season of the World Rally Championship, a rallying competition organised by the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA). Teams and crews competed in seven rallies for the List of World Rally Championship Drivers' champions, World Rally Championships for Drivers, Co-drivers and List of World Rally Championship Constructors' champions, Manufacturers. Crews were free to compete in cars complying with various regulations, however, only manufacturers competing with World Rally Cars Homologation (motorsport), homologated under regulations introduced in World Rally Car#2017, 2017 were eligible to score points in the Manufacturers' championship. Eric Camilli
Eric Camilli (born 6 September 1987) is a French rally driver. He has competed in the World Rally Championship since 2014. After starting out in the lower levels, he made his debut in the top level in 2016 while driving for M-Sport in a Ford Fiesta RS WRC. Rally career Camilli signed for Malcolm Wilson's M-Sport ahead of the 2016 season, after a season in WRC-2. His best result of the season was fifth place which he achieved at the 2016 Rally de Portugal. He finished the season in eleventh place with 28 points. After M-Sport signed fellow frenchman and reigning champion Sébastien Ogier at the end of 2016 to tackle the 2017 season, Camilli was demoted to drive in WRC-2 with M-Sport for the year. World Rally Championship
The World Rally Championship (abbreviated as WRC) is an international rallying series owned and governed by the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile, FIA. Inaugurated in 1973, it is the oldest FIA world championship after Formula One. Each season lasts one calendar year, and typically consists of 13 three- to four-day rally events driven on surfaces ranging from gravel and tarmac to snow and ice. Julien Ingrassia (born 26 November 1979) is a retired French people, French rally (sports), rally co-driver. A special stage (SS) is a section of closed road at a Race stage, stage rallying event used for timed speed tests. Racers attempt to complete the stage in the shortest time. A race on a special stage is coordinated such that each competing racer begins after a set interval, to reduce the chance of impedance by other competitors. Each special stage is usually between and in length. Some stages may be as long as in length. A Rallying, rally usually comprises approximately 15–30 special stages, over multiple days of an event. The 2020 FIA WRC3 Championship was the seventh season of WRC3, a rallying championship organised and governed by the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile. It was open to privately-entered cars complying with Group Rally2 regulations. No WRC3 championship took place in 2019, however eligibility in 2020 was similar to the 2019 WRC2 Championship for privateers, whereas the 2020 WRC2 Championship continued the team and manufacturer eligibility of 2019 WRC2 Pro Championship. The 2020 FIA WRC2 Championship was the eighth season of WRC2, a rallying championship organised and governed by the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile as the second-highest tier of international rallying. The category was open to cars entered by manufacturers and complying with R5 regulations. Kalle Rovanperä and Jonne Halttunen were the reigning drivers' and co-drivers' champions, but they did not defend their titles as they were contesting the World Rally Championship with Toyota. The Monte Carlo Rally or Rallye Monte-Carlo (officially Rallye Automobile Monte-Carlo) is a rallying event organized each year by the Automobile Club de Monaco. From its inception in 1911 by Albert I, Prince of Monaco, Prince Albert I, the rally was intended to demonstrate improvements and innovations in automobiles, and promote Monaco as a tourist resort on the Mediterranean shore. Before the format changed in 1997, the event was a “concentration rally” in which competitors would set off from various starting points around Europe and drive to Monaco, where the rally would continue to a set of special stages.
