The 2019 Nigerian Senate election in Nasarawa State was held on February 23, 2019, to elect members of the Nigerian Senate to represent Nasarawa State. Umaru Tanko Al-Makura
Umaru Tanko Al-Makura (born November 1952) is a Nigerian businessman and politician and also a former governor and senator in Nasarawa State in the All Progressive Congress (APC). He was elected as a senator in 2019. Background Al-makura was born around 1952 in Lafia, Nasarawa State as a member of the Gwandara ethnic Group. He attended Dunama Primary School, Lafia (1959–1966), Keffi Teacher's College (1967–1971) and then Government Teachers College of Education, Uyo (1972–75). Abdullahi Adamu
Abdullahi Adamu (born 23 July 1946) is a Nigerian politician who was the governor of Nasarawa State in Nigeria from 29 May 1999 to 29 May 2007. He is a member and former national chairman of the ruling Party All Progressives Congress (APC). Background Abdullahi Adamu was born at Keffi, Nasarawa State, on 23 July 1946. He attended the Government Secondary School, Makurdi (1960–1962), the Government Technical College, Bukuru (1962–1965) and Kaduna Polytechnic (1965–1968). Godiya Akwashiki (born 3 August 1973) in Angba Iggah of Nasarawa State, Nigeria is a Nigerian politician. He is the current senator representing Nasarawa North senatorial district in Nasarawa State. He was elected into the senate during the 2019 general elections of Nigeria. Akwashiki was re-elected during the 2023 general election. The All Progressives Congress (APC) is one of the two major contemporary political parties in Nigeria, along with the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). Founded on 6 February 2013 from a merger of Nigeria's three largest opposition parties, the party came to power following the victory of party candidate Muhammadu Buhari in the 2015 presidential election. Suleiman Asonya Adokwe (born 15 February 1954) was elected Senator for the Nasarawa South constituency of Nasarawa State, Nigeria, taking office on 29 May 2007.
