2018–19 NAHL Season
The 2018–19 NAHL season was the 35th season of the North American Hockey League. The regular season ran from September 2018 to April 2019 with a 60-game schedule for each team. The Johnstown Tomahawks won the regular season championship on a tiebreaker. The Aberdeen Wings defeated the Fairbanks Ice Dogs 2–1 in the Championship game to capture the Robertson Cup. Member changes * On April 12, 2018, the NAHL approved the addition of an expansion team in Odenton, Maryland. About a month later, the team was officially named as the Maryland Black Bears. * At the end of April, the NAHL approved the sale and relocation of the Coulee Region Chill. The team was moved to Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin and became the Chippewa Steel. North American Hockey League
The North American Hockey League (NAHL) is one of the top junior hockey leagues in the United States and is in its 50th season of operation in 2024–25. It is the only Tier II junior league sanctioned by USA Hockey, and acts as an alternative for those who would not or did not make the roster of a team in the Major Junior Canadian Hockey League (CHL) nor Tier I United States Hockey League (USHL). The NAHL is one of the oldest junior hockey leagues in the United States and is headquartered in Addison, Texas. The teams span the United States from Maine in the East to Alaska in the Northwest and to Texas in the South. The teams play a 59-game regular season, usually starting on the 2nd weekend in September and ending near mid-April (2020–21 season is exception, the season started in late 2020-early 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic). Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Knights
The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Knights are a junior ice hockey organization from Pittston, Pennsylvania. In 2015, the Knights' junior hockey organization purchased the dormant Dawson Creek Rage franchise in the Tier II North American Hockey League (NAHL) and placed their Tier III franchise in the Eastern Hockey League into dormancy. The organization has reactivated and deactivated their Tier III level teams at various times, but plans to launch teams in the United States Premier Hockey League's Premier and Elite Divisions, non-USA Hockey sanctioned leagues that operate similar to the Tier III level. Northeast Generals
The Northeast Generals are a Junior ice hockey#Tier II, Tier II junior ice hockey team based in Canton, Massachusetts. The team competes in the North American Hockey League (NAHL). History In 2015, the organization added a Junior ice hockey#Tier III, Tier III junior team to the North American 3 Eastern Hockey League (NA3EHL). The team finished last in the East Division with a 9–32–3 record. In 2016, the NA3EHL was merged into the North American 3 Hockey League (NA3HL) and the Tier III Generals followed. On April 1, 2016, the Generals were also approved for a Tier II junior team in the NA3HL's overseeing organization, the North American Hockey League (NAHL). The Minnesota Wilderness are a junior ice hockey#Tier II, Tier II junior ice hockey team based in Cloquet, Minnesota, and play in the North American Hockey League (NAHL). The organization formerly fielded teams in the Canada-based Junior ice hockey#Junior A, Junior A Superior International Junior Hockey League for three seasons and in the American-based Junior ice hockey#Tier III, Tier III Minnesota Junior Hockey League. Prior to the 2013–14 season, the Wilderness' owners bought the franchise rights to the St. Louis Bandits of the Tier II North American Hockey League, and began play for that season. The Bismarck Bobcats are a junior ice hockey#Tier II, Tier II junior ice hockey team in the North American Hockey League's (NAHL) Central Division, and play out of Bismarck, North Dakota, in the V.F.W.
