2018 Cricket Pitch Fixing And Betting Scandal
The 2018 Cricket Pitch Fixing scandal refers to the alleged doctoring of the pitch, a central strip of the playing field, in the home Test cricket, test matches of the Sri Lanka national cricket team, Sri Lankan cricket team at the Galle International Stadium, as well as during the home test matches of the India national cricket team, Indian cricket team. Revelation Revealed by Al Jazeera Media Network, Al Jazeera, a documentary claimed that the groundsmen at these matches deliberately altered the nature of the pitch in order to produce results that favored the home team. Test cricket is a form of first-class cricket played at international level between teams representing full member countries of the International Cricket Council (ICC). Robin Francis Morris (born 6 November 1976) is a former Indian cricketer who played for both Mumbai and Odisha in first-class, List A and T20 matches. He was caught for involving in doctoring the pitch conditions for betting purposes at Galle stadium during Sri Lanka's home test matches against India and Australia. Career Robin Morris made his First-class cricket debut for Mumbai during the 1997–98 Ranji Trophy season. Timothy Thomas Bresnan (born 28 February 1985) is an English former first-class cricketer, who last played for Warwickshire. He was a fast-medium bowler who had ability with the bat. Indian Cricket League
The Indian Cricket League (ICL) was a private cricket league funded by Zee Entertainment Enterprises that operated between 2007 and 2009 in India. Its two seasons included tournaments between four international teams (World XI, India, Pakistan and Bangladesh) and separate tournaments between nine domestic teams notionally located in major Indian cities as well as Lahore, Pakistan and Dhaka, Bangladesh. The matches were played in the Twenty20 format, and was the first domestic Twenty20 league in India. There was also a planned domestic 50-over tournament, but this did not happen. The ICL lacked the support of the Board of Control for Cricket in India and International Cricket Council, which placed it at a major disadvantage when compared to other cricket competitions.
