2018 Philadelphia Soul Season
The Philadelphia Soul season was the thirteenth season for the franchise in the Arena Football League. The Soul played at the Wells Fargo Center. The team finished tied for second at the end of the regular season but was seeded third in the playoffs due to the AFL tiebreak procedure. They then lost both games in their aggregate score semi-final series against the Baltimore Brigade. Clint Dolezel
Clint Dolezel (born March 25, 1970) is an American football coach and former professional arena football player in the Arena Football League (AFL). Dolezel was a quarterback in the AFL before becoming the head coach of the AFL's Philadelphia Soul from 2013 until the league folded in 2019. He played college football at East Texas State, and was in the AFL for 13 seasons from 1995 to 2008. Dolezel first became a head coach in 2010 with the San Angelo Stampede Express of the Indoor Football League (IFL). After just a single season, Dolezel returned to the AFL as the head coach of the Dallas Vigilantes. After the Vigilantes franchise suspended operations, Dolezel joined the Philadelphia Soul as their offensive coordinator under head coach Doug Plank. Plank left the Soul following the 2012 season, and the Soul promoted Dolezel to head coach. This is a list of seasons completed by the Philadelphia Soul. The Soul are a professional arena football franchise of the Arena Football League (AFL), based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The team was established in 2004. The Soul have appeared in four ArenaBowls, the first coming in the 2008 season, where they finished with the best record in the league, and put together a playoff run that ended with a win in ArenaBowl XXII. The team made back to back appearances in ArenaBowl XXV and ArenaBowl XXVI, however lost both games. The Soul won their fourth appearance in ArenaBowl XXIX. The 2018 Arena Football League season was the 31st season in the history of the Arena Football League (AFL). Prior to the start of the season, the league contracted from five to four teams with one team folding, one going on hiatus, and one added expansion team. CFG Bank Arena (originally the Baltimore Civic Center and formerly Royal Farms Arena, Baltimore Arena and 1st Mariner Arena) is a multipurpose arena in Baltimore, Maryland. The Washington Valor were a professional arena football team based in Washington, D.C. that played in the Arena Football League (AFL) from 2017 to 2019. The team's home arena was the Capital One Arena. Ronald Vincent Jaworski (born March 23, 1951) is an American former professional football player who was a quarterback in the National Football League (NFL). He was also an NFL analyst on ESPN. He is the CEO of Ron Jaworski Golf Management, Inc., based out of Blackwood, New Jersey, and manages golf courses in southern New Jersey, northeast Pennsylvania, and West Virginia.
