2018 Brisbane International
The 2018 Brisbane International was a tournament on the 2018 ATP World Tour and 2018 WTA Tour. It was played on outdoor hard courts in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. It was the tenth edition of the tournament and took place at the Queensland Tennis Centre in Tennyson. It was held from 31 December 2017 to 7 January 2018 as part of the Australian Open Series in preparation for the first Grand Slam of the year. Rafael Nadal and Andy Murray were about to start their 2018 seasons at the tournament, but both withdrew due to continuous injuries. On 5 October 2017, defending champions Grigor Dimitrov and Karolína Plíšková announced they would also compete. Tennyson is a southern riverside Suburbs and localities (Australia), suburb in the City of Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. In the , Tennyson had a population of 1,109 people. Grigor Dimitrov Dimitrov (, ; born 16 May 1991) is a Bulgarian professional tennis player. He has been ATP rankings, ranked as high as world No. 3 in singles by the Association of Tennis Professionals, ATP, making him the highest-ranked Bulgarian in history. Peter Polansky
Peter Polansky ( ; born June 15, 1988) is a Canadian professional tennis player of Czech origin. He was Canada's top singles player from June 21, 2010, until January 17, 2011, in the Association of Tennis Professionals, ATP rankings. He was also Canada's No. 2 from August 4, 2008, until June 21, 2010, with the exception of one week. Michael Mmoh ( ; born January 10, 1998) is an American professional tennis player. Mmoh has a career-high ATP singles ranking of No. 81 achieved on September 11, 2023 and a doubles ranking of No. 265 achieved on April 12, 2021. He won the USTA junior national championship in 2016. His career-best singles ATP ranking of World No. 23, achieved on 2 July 2018, makes him the highest-ranked tennis player from Bosnia and Herzegovina.
