2018 Alamo Bowl
The 2018 Alamo Bowl was a college football bowl game that was played on December 28, 2018. It was the 26th edition of the Alamo Bowl, and one of the 2018–19 bowl games concluding the 2018 FBS football season. Sponsored by Valero Energy, the game was officially known as the Valero Alamo Bowl. Teams The game was played between Iowa State from the Big 12 Conference and Washington State from the Pac-12 Conference. This was the first meeting between the two programs. Iowa State Cyclones Iowa State received and accepted a bid to the Alamo Bowl on December 2. The Cyclones entered the bowl with an 8–4 record (6–3 in the Big 12). Washington State Cougars Washington State received and accepted a bid to the Alamo Bowl on December 2. The Cougars entered the bowl with a 10–2 record (7–2 in the Pac-12). Alamodome
The Alamodome is a 64,000-seat domed indoor multi-purpose stadium in San Antonio, Texas. It is located on the southeastern fringe of downtown San Antonio. The facility opened on May 15, 1993, having been constructed at a cost of $186 million. The multi-purpose facility was intended to increase the city's convention traffic and attract a professional football franchise. It also placated the San Antonio Spurs' demands for a larger arena. The Spurs played in the Alamodome for a decade, then became disenchanted with the facility and convinced Bexar County, Texas, Bexar County to construct a new arena for them, now called the AT&T Center. The Alamodome's regular tenants are currently the UTSA Roadrunners football, UTSA Roadrunners. Max Borghi
Massimiliano Christopher Borghi (born April 23, 1999) is an American football running back for the St. Louis Battlehawks of the United Football League (UFL). He played college football at Washington State. Early years Borghi attended Pomona High School in Arvada, Colorado. As a 5th year senior, he had 1,690 rushing yards with 27 touchdowns and helped lead his school to their first state title since 1988. David Montgomery (born June 7, 1997) is an American football running back for the Chicago Bears of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at Iowa State. High school career Growing up in the Cincinnati, Ohio area, he is an Eagle Scout in addition to being a standout prep dual threat quarterback. Over his four-year career, he rushed for 6,666 yards and 91 touchdowns. In 2015, he was named the Division III Ohio Player of the Year as well as the Southwest District Offensive Player of the Year. Dezmon Patmon (born August 6, 1998) is an American professional football wide receiver for the Hamilton Tiger-Cats of the Canadian Football League (CFL). 2018–19 NCAA Football Bowl Games
The 2018–19 NCAA football bowl games were a series of college football bowl games completing the 2018 NCAA Division I FBS football season. The games began on December 15, 2018, and, aside from the all-star games that follow, ended with the 2019 College Football Playoff National Championship, which was played on January 7, 2019. The total of 40 team-competitive bowls in FBS, including the national championship game, was unchanged from the previous year. To fill the 78 available bowl slots, a total of 10 teams (13% of all participants) with non-winning records (6–6) were invited to bowl games.
