2015 Navarrese Regional Election
The 2015 Navarrese regional election was held on Sunday, 24 May 2015, to elect the 9th Parliament of the Chartered Community of Navarre. All 50 seats in the Parliament were up for election. The election was held simultaneously with regional elections in twelve other autonomous communities and local elections all throughout Spain. Regional president Yolanda Barcina, who had only came to power in 2011 after the establishment of a coalition government between the Navarrese People's Union (UPN) and the Socialist Party of Navarre (PSN–PSOE)—which proved to be short-lived, as Barcina herself expelled the PSN from the cabinet in 2012 over disagreements with then-PSN leader Roberto Jiménez—announced on 10 November 2014 that she would not seek re-election for a second term in office. Parliament Of Navarre
The Parliament of Navarre (Spanish ''Parlamento de Navarra'', Basque ''Nafarroako Parlamentua'') or also known as ''Cortes de Navarra'' (in Spanish) or ''Nafarroako Gorteak'' (in Basque) is the Navarre autonomous unicameral parliament. Functions The Parliament's functions are regulated by the "Organic Law on the Reintegration and Improvement of the Autonomous Regime in Navarre" (''Ley Orgánica de Reintegración y Amejoramiento del Régimen Foral de Navarra'', also known as LORAFNA). These functions include representing the Navarre people, approving the laws and General Budget and electing and controlling the President, as in any other parliamentary system. Ana Beltrán (cropped)
Ana María Beltrán Villalba (born 16 January 1966) is a Spanish People's Party (PP) politician. She served in the Parliament of Navarre from 2011 to 2019, in which she led her party, and was then elected to the Congress of Deputies. She has been president of the People's Party of Navarre since 2017, and the PP's Vice Secretary of Organisation since 2019. Early and personal life Born in Zaragoza, Aragon, Beltrán graduated with a degree in Tourism and a master's degree in Senior Management from the University of Deusto, as well as a further master's degree in General Management from the IESE Business School of the University of Navarra.
