2015 Johan Cruyff Shield
The 2015 Johan Cruyff Shield was the twentieth edition of the Johan Cruyff Shield ( nl, Johan Cruijff Schaal), an annual Dutch football match played between the winners of the previous season's Eredivisie and KNVB Cup. The match was contested by FC Groningen, the 2014–15 KNVB Cup winners, and PSV Eindhoven, champions of the 2014–15 Eredivisie. It was held at the Amsterdam Arena on 2 August 2015. Football Club Groningen () is a Dutch professional association football club based in Groningen, province of Groningen. Founded on 16 June 1971 as the successor of GVAV, the team compete in the Eredivisie, the highest tier of Dutch football. Groningen played their inaugural season in the Eredivisie, before the side were relegated to the Eerste Divisie in 1973–74 as they got into financial difficulties. Groningen were promoted back to the Eredivisie as champions in 1979–80 and remained in the top flight for almost 20 seasons before they dropped to the second tier in 1997–98. Eric Fernando Botteghin (born 31 August 1987) is a Brazilian professional footballer who plays as a centre back for Italian club Ascoli. Career Botteghin played in the youth academy of Grêmio Barueri, but was also loaned out to Internacional for one season. Peter van der Vlag (born December 5, 1977) is a Dutch former professional footballer who played as a goalkeeper. He is currently the goalkeeper coach of SC Cambuur.
