2014 LKL All-Star Game
The annual 2014 LKL All-star Game, was held on March 2, in Klaipėda. The format was slightly different from the previous contests: LKL teams were geographically divided into an eastern division and a western division. Players from teams of each conference then made up the respective All-Star team. Divisions * Rytai (Eastern): Lietuvos rytas, Pieno žvaigždės, Nevėžis, Juventus, Lietkabelis * Vakarai (Western): Žalgiris, TonyBet, Neptūnas, Šiauliai, Dzūkija, LSU–Atletas Teams * replaced by Giedrius Staniulis, of BC Dzūkija. ** replaced by Artūras Jomantas, of BC Pieno žvaigždės, in starting line-up, and by Ryan Olander, of BC Lietkabelis, in the roster. Lietuvos Krepšinio Lyga
Lietuvos krepšinio lyga (LKL; ), also known as Betsafe LKL for sponsorship reasons, is the premier men's professional club basketball league in Lithuania. It is composed of 10 teams, and it is a member of the Lithuanian Basketball Federation. The best LKL clubs are also annual participants of the top European-wide basketball competitions, including the top-tier level EuroLeague. On April 22, 1993, the Lietuvos krepšinio asociacija (LKA; ) was founded. It was the first professional sports organisation in Lithuania. Lietuvos krepšinio lyga was built on the foundation of the LKA. Former basketball player Šarūnas Marčiulionis is named as the founder of the league. He was the first president of the LKL and served from 1993 to 2002. Remigijus Milašius is the current president of the league since 2013. The league's headquarters is located in Vilnius. Artūras Valeika (born 11 August 1985) is a Lithuanian professional basketball player for CBet Jonava of the Lithuanian Basketball League. He is 2 times champion in Romania with CSM Oradea, and one time SuperCup winner with the ”Red Lions”. Born in Vilnius, Lithuanian SSR, Soviet Union, Valeika started his career in 2003 playing for Vilnius SSK-Nord/LB Draudimas which was playing in the second Lithuanian league LKAL. He spent four years playing college basketball in the United States, first at Midland College and then at Weber State University. Marius Runkauskas (born May 20, 1986) is a Lithuanian professional basketball player. He plays primarily at the shooting guard position, but he can also play point guard, if needed. Early years Runkauskas played in the Lithuanian Pupils Basketball League (MKL), for the V. Chomičius basketball school. Professional career Runkauskas started his professional basketball career in the Klaipėda, NKL (Lithuanian 2nd Division) team, Nafta-Uni-Laivitė, in 2003. Kšyštof Lavrinovič (; born 1 November 1979) is a Lithuanian former professional basketball player. During his playing career, he played at the power forward and Center (basketball), center positions. Paulius Jankūnas (born 29 April 1984) is a Lithuanian former professional basketball player who mainly played for Žalgiris Kaunas of the Lithuanian Basketball League (LKL) and the EuroLeague. He was also a member of the senior Lithuanian national team. Jankūnas played at either center or power forward, with power forward being his main position. Artūras Jomantas (born May 4, 1985) is a Lithuanian former professional basketball player. Professional career Born in Mažeikiai, Lithuania, he made his debut with Mažeikiai Nafta during the 2001-02 season. He played high-school basketball at Laurinburg Normal HS. In 2004, he signed with Šiauliai and played there until the end of the 2005–06 season. He joined Lietuvos rytas in 2006 and stayed there for 7 seasons.
