2013 Tour De Wallonie
The 2013 Tour de Wallonie was the 40th edition of the Tour de Wallonie cycle race and was held on 20–24 July 2013. The race started in Ans and finished in Thuin. 2013 UCI Europe Tour
The 2013 UCI Europe Tour was the ninth season of the UCI Europe Tour. The 2013 season began on 27 January 2013 with the Grand Prix Cycliste la Marseillaise and ended on 20 October 2013 with the Chrono des Nations. The points leader, based on the cumulative results of previous races, wears the UCI Europe Tour cycling jersey. John Degenkolb of Germany was the defending champion of the 2012 UCI Europe Tour. Riccardo Zoidl of Austria was crowned as the 2013 UCI Europe Tour. Throughout the season, points are awarded to the top finishers of stages within stage races and the final general classification standings of each of the stages races and one-day events. Engis
Engis (; wa, Indji) is a municipality of Wallonia located in the province of Liège, Belgium. On 1 January 2006 Engis had a total population of 5,686. The total area is 27.74 km² which gives a population density of 205 inhabitants per km². The municipality consists of the following districts: Clermont-sous-Huy, Engis and Hermalle-sous-Huy. Paul Martens (born 26 October 1983) is a German former professional road bicycle racer, who rode professionally between 2006 and 2021. Career Amateur years Martens started racing junior level events in 2000 showing no particular specialization finishing in the middle of the pack in the Niedersachsen Juniors and Cottbuser Juniors races. In 2001 he started to show some form finishing 3rd in Stage 1 of LVM Saarland Trofeo beating the chasing peloton by 2 seconds. Later in the year he finished 10th overall at the Münsterland Tour Juniors a race he would win the senior version of later in his career. In 2002 he rode the Istrian Spring Trophy finishing 56th overall with his best result coming in the stage 3 sprint where he finished 16th. Björn Thurau
Björn Thurau (born 23 July 1988) is a German former professional road racing cyclist, who competed professionally between 2007 and 2019. He is the son of former cyclist Dietrich Thurau. After retiring, Thurau was a presenter for Global Cycling Network's German-language YouTube channel. He left in February 2021. In September 2021 he was banned from cycling for doping offences, and his results dating back to December 2010 were stripped. Stijn Devolder
Stijn Devolder (born 29 August 1979) is a Belgian former professional road bicycle racer, who competed professionally for (2002–2003), (2004–2007), (2008–2010), (2011–2012), (2013–2016), (2017–2018) and (2019). Career Born in Kortrijk, West Flanders, Devolder won his first professional race at the 2004 Four Days of Dunkirk, winning stage 4. His most prestigious victories are the 2007, 2010 and 2013 Belgian National Road Race Championships, the 2008 and 2009 Tour of Flanders, and the 2008 and 2010 Tour of Belgium. Devolder is a competent climber and proficient in an individual time trial but his main strength lies in the cobbled classics. Devolder led the squad in the 2008 Tour de France but fell off the back and almost immediately stepped off his bike on the Ascent of the Col Agnel. Julien Bérard (born 27 July 1987) is a French former professional road bicycle racer, who rode professionally between 2010 and 2017, entirely for the team. Amateur career Born in Paris, Bérard recorded his first notable result in July 2005 when he won the third stage of the junior edition of the Tour du Valromey. In another stage during that same stage race he finished in second position. In 2008 he started as a stagiaire for the team. He claimed his first podium finish, at the Tour des Pays de Savoie where he finished in second position in stage 3, and also finished second overall in the general classification. In the Tour de la Creuse he managed to finish in third position in the second stage, but he also claimed the victory in the general classification standings for that race.
