2013 Memorial Cup
The 2013 Memorial Cup was a four-team, round-robin format ice hockey tournament played from May 17–26, 2013. It was the 95th Memorial Cup championship and determined the champion of the Canadian Hockey League (CHL). The tournament featured the London Knights, champions of the Ontario Hockey League, the Halifax Mooseheads, champions of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League, the Portland Winterhawks, champions of the Western Hockey League, and the Saskatoon Blades, who won the right to host the tournament over bids by the Kelowna Rockets and the Red Deer Rebels. This was the first Memorial Cup to be held in Saskatoon since the Blades hosted it in 1989. The Halifax Mooseheads won the Memorial Cup for the first time in franchise history, beating the Portland Winterhawks 6–4 in the final. Credit Union Centre
SaskTel Centre (formerly Credit Union Centre, and originally Saskatchewan Place; informally also known as ''Sask Place'') is an arena located in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada. The facility opened in February 1988 and is currently the home venue of the Saskatoon Blades of the Western Hockey League, the Saskatchewan Rattlers of the Canadian Elite Basketball League, and the Saskatchewan Rush of the National Lacrosse League, with the arena being referred to as Co-op Field at SaskTel Centre during Rush games. Founded in 1950 as the Edmonton Oil Kings, the team relocated to Portland in 1976 and was known as the Winter Hawks until 2009. The team plays in the U.S. Division of the Western Hockey League (WHL), one of three constituent leagues of the Canadian Hockey League (CHL). Ty Rattie (born February 5, 1993) is a Canadians, Canadian professional ice hockey Forward (ice hockey), forward who is currently playing for Linköping HC of the Swedish Hockey League (SHL). Playing career In June 2011, the St. Louis Blues made Rattie their first draft pick and the 32nd overall in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft. He was ranked 17th among draft eligible prospects by Central Scouting. Blues' scouting director Bill Armstrong (ice hockey b. 1970), Bill Armstrong stated that he was "someone that we liked because of his high skill level. Martin Frk (; ; born 5 October 1993) is a Czech professional ice hockey forward for the Calgary Wranglers of the American Hockey League (AHL) while under contract to the Calgary Flames of the National Hockey League (NHL). Frk was drafted 49th overall by the Detroit Red Wings in the 2012 NHL entry draft. Seth Jones
Jared Seth Jones (born October 3, 1994) is an American professional ice hockey defenceman, defenseman for the Florida Panthers of the National Hockey League (NHL). He was selected fourth overall by the Nashville Predators in the 2013 NHL entry draft. After two seasons playing for the USA Hockey National Team Development Program, United States National Team Development Program, Jones joined the Western Hockey League's (WHL) Portland Winterhawks. Andrey Makarov (born 20 April 1993) is a Russian professional ice hockey goaltender currently playing for HC Dinamo-Molodechno of the Belarusian Extraleague. He played one game in the National Hockey League (NHL) for the Buffalo Sabres. Anthony Stolarz (born January 20, 1994) is an American professional ice hockey goaltender for the Toronto Maple Leafs of the National Hockey League (NHL). He previously played for the Philadelphia Flyers, Edmonton Oilers, Anaheim Ducks and Florida Panthers.
