2013 Biñan Local Elections
Local elections were held in Biñan on May 13, 2013, within the Philippine general election. The voters elected for the elective local posts in the city: the mayor, vice mayor, and ten councilors. Overview Incumbent Mayor Marlyn "Len-Len" Alonte-Naguiat decided to run as a re-electionist under the Liberal Party, her opponents are Reynaldo Cardeño, NPC's nominee and Joaquin Borja an independent candidate. Mayor Marlyn's running mate is Walfredo Dimaguila, Jr. also under the Liberal Party. United Nationalist Alliance
The United Nationalist Alliance (UNA ) is a political party in the Philippines. It was created as a multi-party electoral alliance replacing the former United Opposition (UNO) coalition for the 2013 midterm elections, before it was launched as a single political party on July 1, 2015, by Jejomar Binay for his candidacy in the 2016 presidential election. Biñan
Biñan (), officially the City of Biñan (), is a component city in the province of Laguna, Philippines. According to the 2020 census, it has a population of 407,437, making it the third largest in population in the province of Laguna, after Calamba and Santa Rosa. Biñan has become both a suburban residential community of Metro Manila and a location for some of the Philippines' largest industrial estates and export processing zones. 2013 Philippine General Election
A general election was held in the Philippines on May 13, 2013. It was a midterm election—the officials elected were sworn in on June 30, 2013, midway through President Benigno Aquino III's term of office. Being elected are 12 senators (half of the Senate), and all 229 district members of the House of Representatives. These national elections were held on the same day as local and gubernatorial elections, as well as a general election in the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao. In total, there were 18,022 national and local positions up for election. Barangay officials, including barangay captains, were elected on October 28, 2013. The elections for SK officials were held at the same day, but on September 24, 2013, the Congress of the Philippines voted to postpone of the election for at least a year. Marlyn Alonte
Marlyn Belizario "Len" Alonte-Naguiat (born July 15, 1974) is a Filipino politician who served as the Member of the House of Representatives of the Philippines for Biñan from 2016 to 2025. A member of the centre-right Lakas–CMD, she previously served as one of the deputy speakers of the House of Representatives from March 2021 to June 2022, as well as the 3-term Mayor of Biñan from 2007 to 2016, the Vice Mayor of Biñan from 2004 to 2007 and the Member of the then Biñan Municipal Council from 1998 to 2004.
