Football In Thailand
Football is the most popular sport in Thailand. Although the professional football leagues are new to Thai people, football was introduced to Thailand as far back as 1897. Many Thais also watch football on local and paid-cable TV. Many matches, especially those in the English FA Premier League can be watched free on local channels. Thai channels broadcast every match of the 2006 World Cup. Football in Thailand is organized by Football Association of Thailand (FAT). In 2007, Thailand co-hosted the Asian Cup 2007 with three other countries. This was the second time the event had been held in Thailand, the first being in 1972. 2010 Thai Division 1 League
2010 Thai League Division 1 is the 13th season of the League since its establishment in 1997. It is the feeder league for the Thai Premier League. A total of 16 teams will compete in the league. League Expansion It was announced at the end of the season that the TPL would increase the number of teams for the start of the 2011 Thai Premier League season. Therefore, at the end of season the three teams in the Thai Premier League that finished the season in the bottom three places (14th, 15th and 16th) would face the fourth, fifth and sixth teams from Division One in a promotion/relegation series. The six teams will be divided into two groups of three. They will meet each other in their group on a home-and-away basis with the winner of each group earning spots in the top flight next season. Jakkapan Pornsai ( th, จักรพันธ์ พรใส, born March 28, 1987), simply known as Ball ( th, บอล), is a Thai professional footballer who plays as a winger for Thai League 2 club Chiangmai. Career Police United and Muangthong United Jakkapan started his career in Police United during 2009, and moved to Muangthong United in 2011, where he got a successful career include winning the champion of 2012 TPL. Jakkapan stayed for 3 years and scored 9 goals for Muangthong United. Suphanburi Jakkapan joined Suphanburi in 2014 and signed 3 years contract. In his first season, he scored 4 league goals in 26 games. Buriram
Buriram (, , , 'city of happiness') is a town (''thesaban mueang'') in Thailand, capital of Buriram Province, about northeast of Bangkok. The Buriram Stadium (known for sponsorship purposes as Chang Arena) is a 32,600-seat football stadium in Buriram, Thailand. The stadium is the home of Thailand's 2011, 2013, and 2015 treble champions, Buriram United. Chang Arena is the largest club-owned football stadium in Thailand. The National Stadium of Thailand ( th, สนามกีฬาแห่งชาติ or กรีฑาสถานแห่งชาติ) is a sports complex located in Pathum Wan District, Bangkok. Founded in 1937 with the construction of Supachalasai Stadium (; ), its main venue, the complex has since expanded and now consists of multiple stadia and sporting facilities. The Department of Physical Education entered into a 29-year lease agreement with Chulalongkorn University. Kor Royal Cup ( th, ถ้วยพระราชทาน ก. ; ถ้วย ก.), known as the Yai Cup ( th, ถ้วยใหญ่) until 1963, was the highest level of club football competition which competed in the tournament in Thailand from 1916 to 1995. It was founded by the Football Association of Thailand in 1916. Department of Performing Arts was the first team that won this competition. In 1996, Thai League 1 was formed by the Football Association of Thailand to act as the top professional football league in place of Kor Royal cup.
