The following is a list of all team-to-team transactions that have occurred in the National Hockey League during the 2008–09 NHL season. It lists what team each player has been traded to, signed by, or claimed by, and for which players or draft picks, if applicable. The 2008–09 NHL trade deadline was on March 4, 2009. Ottawa Senators
The Ottawa Senators (), officially the Ottawa Senators Hockey Club and colloquially known as the Sens, are a professional ice hockey team based in Ottawa. The Senators compete in the National Hockey League (NHL) as a member of the Atlantic Division in the Eastern Conference. The team plays its home games at the 18,652-seat Canadian Tire Centre, which opened in 1996. The Atlanta Thrashers were a professional ice hockey team based in Atlanta.
