2007–08 Montenegrin First League
The 2007–08 Montenegrin First League was the second season of the top-tier football in Montenegro, since the vote for Montenegrin independence split the Montenegrin FA from Serbia's. FK Jedinstvo and FK Berane were relegated to the second league, giving FK Bokelj their first time in the top league of Montenegro. The 2007-08 season began on 11 August 2007 and ended on 24 May 2008. Teams FK Berane were directly relegated to the Montenegrin Second League after finishing 12th in last year's standings. Their place was taken by Second League champions Lovćen Cetinje. 10th placed Dečić Tuzi and 11th placed Jedinstvo Bijelo Polje had to compete in two-legged relegation play-offs. Jedinstvo were relegated by losing 4–2 on aggregate against the 2nd placed team from Second League, Bokelj Kotor. Montenegrin First League
The First League of Montenegro (Montenegrin language, Montenegrin: ''Prva crnogorska fudbalska liga'' — ''Prva CFL'' — ''1. CFL''; ) is the top association football, football league in Montenegro. Founded in 2006, competition is headed by the Football Association of Montenegro. 10 teams participate in this league. The winner of the Montenegrin First League starts the qualifications for the UEFA Champions League from the second round. The second and third placed team and Montenegrin Cup winner play in the qualifying rounds of the UEFA Conference League. FK Jedinstvo Bijelo Polje
Fudbalski klub Jedinstvo ( Montenegrin: Фудбалски клуб Јединство) is football club from Bijelo Polje, Montenegro, currently competing in the Montenegrin First League. The club was established in 1922. History FK Jedinstvo (''FC United'') was founded in 1922, as a first football team in Bijelo Polje. During the first two decades (1922-1941), the team played mostly exhibition matches, without participation in Montenegrin Football Championship. Tuzi
Tuzi ( cnr, Tuzi/Тузи, ; sq, Tuz or ''Tuzi'') is a small town in Montenegro and the seat of Tuzi Municipality, Montenegro. It is located along a main road between the city of Podgorica and the Albanian border crossing, just a few kilometers north of Lake Skadar. The Church of St. Anthony and Qazimbeg's Mosque are located in the centre of the town. Tuzi is the newest municipality in Montenegro, having been an independent municipality since 1 September 2018. Branko "Sosa" Babić (; born 11 September 1950) is a Serbian football manager and former player. Playing career During his playing career, Babić represented Osijek (Yugoslavia) and Beringen (Belgium) in the 1970s. He made five league appearances for the Belgian club in the 1975–76 season. Stadion Pod Goricom
Podgorica City Stadium ( cnr, Stadion pod Goricom) is an all-seater multi-purpose stadium in Podgorica, Montenegro. Although its seating capacity changed over the years due to several renovations, as of 2019 it has 11,050 seats. The stadium is the home ground of the Montenegrin national football team and Budućnost. History Podgorica City Stadium was built in 1945, following World War II. Before the war, Budućnost and other clubs from Podgorica played their matches in a field near that location. The stadium's original capacity was around 5,000 spectators. The stadium burned down completely in 1952, but was later rebuilt, with a new capacity of about 17,000 seats. The new stadium has four stands—west, east, south and north. Podgorica (Cyrillic script, Cyrillic: Подгорица, ; Literal translation, lit. 'under the hill') is the Capital city, capital and List of cities and towns in Montenegro, largest city of Montenegro. The city was formerly known as Titograd (Cyrillic script, Cyrillic: Титоград, ) between 1946 and 1992—in the period that Montenegro formed, as the Socialist Republic of Montenegro in honour of Marshal of Yugoslavia, Marshal Josip Broz Tito. Stadion Pod Vrmcem
Stadion Pod Vrmcem is a football stadium in Kotor, Montenegro. It is used mostly for football matches and is the home ground of FK Bokelj. The stadium holds 1,000 people. History The first football ground in Kotor was situated at Rakite suburb, near the Adriatic coast. At the same location, after 1945, a new ground was built. The stadium was renovated few times. It's situated near the beach in Bay of Kotor and it's the home ground of FK Bokelj. Except Bokelj's matches, at the Stadion pod Vrmcem, every year is playing final match of Nikša Bućin Cup, competition for Third League clubs from south Montenegro. Kotor
Kotor ( Montenegrin Cyrillic: Котор, ), historically known as Cattaro (from Italian: ), is a coastal town in Montenegro. It is located in a secluded part of the Bay of Kotor. The city has a population of 13,510 and is the administrative center of Kotor Municipality. The old Mediterranean port of Kotor is surrounded by fortifications built during the Venetian period. FK Rudar Pljevlja, commonly known as Rudar Pljevlja or simply Rudar, is a football club based in Pljevlja, Montenegro. It currently plays in the Montenegrin First League, the country's highest tier. Rudar have played in the First League since its inception in 2006, and won two league titles in 2009–10 and 2014–15. OFK Petrovac is a football club based in Petrovac, Montenegro. They currently compete in the First League of Montenegro. History OFK Petrovac was founded in 1969, under the name ''FK Nafta''. During the first season, they played in the lowest-tier competition - Fourth League - South. FK Ibar is a football club from Rožaje, Montenegro. They currently compete in the Montenegrin Third League. FK Ibar is a part of the Ibar sport society from Rožaje.
