2004–05 Ukrainian First League
The 2004–05 Ukrainian First League was the 14th since its establishment. Eighteen teams competed in the competition. The competition began on July 17, 2004 with six matches. The competition had a winter break and resumed March 19, 2005. Ukrainian First League
The Persha Liha ( uk, Перша ліга) or Ukrainian First League is a professional football league in Ukraine and the second tier of national football competitions pyramid. Members of the league also participate in the Ukrainian Cup. It is the highest division of Professional Football League. History The league was set up by the newly reorganized Football Federation of Ukraine (a successor of the Football Federation of the Ukrainian SSR) with the falling apart Soviet Union as a second tier, lower than Ukrainian Higher League (Vyshcha Liha) and higher that Ukrainian Transitional League (Perekhidna Liha). The very first round of games that took place for this league was on 14 March 1992. FC Karpaty Lviv
Football Club Karpaty Lviv ( ) is a Ukrainian professional football club based in Lviv. History Early years (1963–68) The team of Karpaty was founded on 18 January, 1963. In 1961 Silmash Lviv won the championship of Lviv Oblast but lost its promotional play-off against Naftovyk Drohobych to qualify for the Soviet Class B championship. In 1962 Silmash Lviv won the championship and cup of the Lviv Oblast (see Lviv Oblast Football Federation) and won the promotional play-offs against Naftovyk, obtaining the rights to participate in the Soviet Class B championship (Soviet First League). However, in 1963 the Football Federation of USSR conducted another reorganization in football national tournaments creating the Second Group of Class A and Class B became the third tier where a berth was reserved for a team from Lviv. FC Skala Stryi (1911)
FC Skala 1911 Stryi was a Ukrainian football team. The team is based in Stryi, Ukraine. History Over the years there were several clubs connected with Skala Stryi starting from 1911. Club of Austria-Hungary and Poland The first recorded match in Stryi was at times of Austria-Hungary, so called Kingdom of Galicia and Lodomeria on 29 June 1906 when a team of Stryj gymnasium (high school) lost to a team from Lemberg (Lviv). It was renamed as ''Hazovyk-Khurtovyna'' adding a name of the former Ukrainian club that existed in Komarno, Ukraine, Komarno prior to the Soviet invasion of Halychyna in 1939. In 2004 this team under the name of FC Hazovyk-Skala Stryi won the Ukrainian Second League, Druha Liha Group A championship and was promoted to the Ukrainian First League. FC Naftovyk Okhtyrka
Football Club Naftovyk Okhtyrka is a Ukrainian amateur football club based in Okhtyrka, Sumy Oblast, where it was founded in 1980. The name of the club means "oiler" in Ukrainian. Ukrnafta company owned the club between 2004 and 2018. The club was dissolved in July 2018, but refounded again in 2020. History Naftovyk Okhtyrka was created as a team of the Oil and Gaz administration "Okhtyrkanaftogaz" (today part of Ukrnafta) in 1980. Naftovyk Okhtyrka took part in the first Ukrainian Premier League season in 1992, after being initially chosen to participate for being the Ukrainian SSR Champion in 1991 (Note: republican level championships were part of Soviet Second League B). FC Stal Kamianske
FC Stal Kamianske ( uk, Сталь Кам'янське) was a professional Ukrainian football club based in Kamianske, Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, Ukraine. After being relegated to the Ukrainian First League after the 2017–18 Ukrainian Premier League season, the club re-registered to Bucha and changed its name to PFC Feniks Bucha in June 2018. The club didn't play any game under the new name and was dissolved on 9 July 2018. The club was sponsored by the Dnieper Metallurgical Combine (DMK) which is a member of the Industrial Union of Donbas (ISD). FC Zorya Luhansk
FC Zorya Luhansk ( uk, ФК «Зоря» Луганськ ) is a Ukrainian football team. Zorya Luhansk is based in the city of Luhansk, Ukraine. However, because of the Russo-Ukrainian War, the team play their games at Slavutych-Arena in Zaporizhzhia. The modern club as a team of masters was established on 10 April 1964 by the Football Federation of the Soviet Union merging the October Revolution Plant (Luhanskteplovoz) sports club Zorya and the Luhansk regional branch of the "Trudovye Rezervy" sports society. In 1972, as Zaria Voroshilovgrad, the club became the first provincial Soviet club to win the Soviet Top League title. Today, the modern club considers its predecessor the football team of the Luhansk Steam Locomotive Plant (October Revolution Steam Locomotive Plant, today Luhanskteplovoz) that was established back in 1923. FC Spartak Ivano-Frankivsk
FC Spartak Ivano-Frankivsk was a Ukrainian football team based in Ivano-Frankivsk, Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast, Ukraine, the unofficial capital of the Prykarpattia region. History The club was founded in 1940 after the Soviet occupation of the Eastern Poland during the World War II. All previous local sports clubs were liquidated and replaced with "proletarian". In 1956 the club gained promotion to the Soviet Class B (second tier) by winning a play-off match-up against SKCF Sevastopol in 1955. FC CSKA Kyiv ( uk, "ЦСКА Київ") is a Ukrainian amateur football club, until 2001 of the Central Sports Club of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, which is government sponsored by the Ministry of Defense. FC Shakhtar-2 Donetsk
FC Shakhtar-2 Donetsk was a Ukraine, Ukrainian football (soccer), reserve football team based in Donetsk, Ukraine. History The club was formed in 1992. It was preceded by Shakhter-D Donetsk (where D stood for double) which since 1949 participated in the Soviet football championship for reserve teams. With the fall of the Soviet Union the team was preserved, reorganized as Shkhtar-2 Donetsk and was admitted to the 1992 Ukrainian First League. FC Spartak Sumy
FC Spartak Sumy was a Ukrainian football club based in Sumy. History Yavir was established on January 12, 1982 at the village forestry Krasnopillya. In Ukrainian Yavir ( uk, Явір) means Sycamore (''Acer pseudoplatanus''). The team started playing in the regional championship and after couple of years became the regional champion. The following year it won the regional cup. In the first national championship of Ukraine ''Yavir Krasnopillya'' became involved in the professional leagues, first in the Ukrainian Second League, then in the 1992.
