À, à ( a-grave) is a letter of the Catalan, Emilian-Romagnol, French, Italian, Maltese, Occitan, Portuguese, Sardinian, Scottish Gaelic, Vietnamese, and Welsh languages consisting of the letter A of the ISO basic Latin alphabet and a grave accent. Pink TV (France)
Pink TV is Europe's second gay satellite channel (after Italy's GAY.tv), started in France on 25 October 2004, on a subscription basis, mostly funded by TF1 and Canal Plus terrestrial channels in France. It is now possible to access Pink TV via satellite, cable and DSL providers. Highlights include ''Queer as Folk'', as well as talkshows (including ''So Graham Norton''). There is an X-rated film four times a week after midnight, and the channel broadcasts 24 hours per day, including productions from porn studios including French Twinks. Discovery Channel (French TV Channel)
Discovery Channel is a French channel that was launched on 1 September 2004. Until then, France had been the only region in Western Europe not reached by the Discovery Channel. It initially reached 3.2 million subscribers via the CanalSat platform. On 31 March 2009, the channel adopted the also known as a US channel. The channel faces competition from other documentary channels such as Planète+ and National Geographic. In December 2016, Altice acquired an exclusivity agreement with NBCUniversal and Discovery Networks. Discovery Channel and Science were removed from Canal on 17 January 2017, and French versions of Investigation Discovery and Discovery Family were launched exclusively on SFR. ''Sous le soleil'' (''Under the sun''; ) is a French soap opera broadcast on French major channel TF1 from 1996 to 2008. A spin-off, ''Sous le soleil de Saint-Tropez'' has been broadcast in French channel TMC since 2013. Broadcast It has been a success in many countries, particularly in Latin America, France, Belgium, Bulgaria, Switzerland, Italy, Slovakia, Russia, Turkey and Poland. In different times it was also shown in Hungary, Ukraine, Lebanon, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Greece, Estonia, Finland, Sweden, Denmark, Mexico, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, USA and many other countries. ''30 millions d'amis'' (English: "30 Million Friends") is a French television program, a French monthly magazine with its posters, and a French foundation: the Fondation 30 Millions d'Amis. All three focus on pets, especially cats, dogs, horses, ferrets, rabbits, guinea pigs, rats, hamsters, mouse, mice, Domestic canary, canaries, parakeets, parrots, terrarium reptiles, goldfish, aquarium fish, and other exotic pets, but also wild animals like for example, bonobos and cheetahs. Television program The first episode of the program, initiative of the French journalist Jean-Pierre Hutin, who was worried about the fate of pets, was broadcast on 6 January 1976 on TF1. ''Présence protestante'' is a France 2 religious programme that presents Protestant Christianity. It has been produced since the 1950s broadcast every Sunday morning since October 9, 1955. History ''Présence protestante'' debuted on October 2, 1955 which was presented by Marcel Gosselin, under the leadership of Marc Boegner who was the president of the Protestant Federation of France. Broadcast by RTF, it was originally titled ''Émission protestante'', then renamed to ''Présence protestante'' after a similar French-speaking Swiss program. ''Plus belle la vie'' (More beautiful life) is a French television soap opera based on an idea by Hubert Besson and characters created by Georges Desmouceaux, Bénédicte Achard, Magaly Richard-Serrano and Olivier Szulzynger. On air from 30 August 2004 until 18 November 2022, it was shown on France 3 on Monday to Friday evenings at 8:15 p.m. The show began with 17 main actors and gained more later. French Television
Television in France was introduced in 1931, when the first experimental broadcasts began. Colour television was introduced in October 1967 on La Deuxième Chaîne. Digital terrestrial television The digital terrestrial television platform, known locally as TNT (from the literal translation in French, ''télévision numérique terrestre''), was launched on 31 March 2005 after a short testing period. Like Freeview in the UK, it provides many new channels, as well as the current terrestrial television stations. Like the rest of Europe, France uses the DVB-T transmission technology.
