IAAF
World Athletics, formerly known as the International Amateur Athletic Federation (from 1912 to 2001) and International Association of Athletics Federations (from 2001 to 2019, both abbreviated as the IAAF) is the international governing body for the sport of athletics, covering track and field, cross country running, road running, race walking, mountain running, and ultra running. Rose Cheruiyot
Rose Jelagat Cheruiyot (born 21 July 1976) is a runner from Kenya. She competed in the 5000 metres at the 1996 Summer Olympics and the 2000 Summer Olympics. She is married to Ismael Kirui. The couple completed an unusual double, when they both won their senior races at the Belfast International Cross Country in 1995. Cheruiyot broke the 5000 metres Kenyan record in 1996, timing 14:46.41. The record was beaten in September 2000 by Leah Malot, the new record was 14:39.83. Jon Brown (runner)
Jonathan Michael Brown (born 27 February 1971) is a former British long-distance runner who specialised in 10,000 metres, cross country running and the marathon. Athletics career Born in Bridgend, Wales, he was affiliated with the City of Sheffield Athletic Club in England during his career. He gained Canadian citizenship in 2005, after living in there since 1996; but continued to make himself available for Britain until switching sporting allegiance at the start of 2008. Earlier in his running career he competed for the Iowa State Cyclones Track and Field and Iowa State Cyclones Cross Country teams. He was a bronze medallist in the 5000 m at the 1992 European Athletics U23 Cup. Josephat Machuka
Josephat Machuka (born 12 December 1973) is a Kenyan long-distance runner. He won IAAF World Cross Country Championships junior bronze medal in 1992 and 1993. In the 1996 IAAF World Cross Country Championships he was 10th and was part of the Kenyan team that won team gold. At the 1992 World Junior Championships he competed in the 10,000 metres finishing second, but as he was being passed just before the finish, he deliberately punched at the eventual winner Haile Gebrselassie during the final sprint and was disqualified. Overshadowed by Gebrselassie his entire career, this early incident is what Machuka is best remembered for. He competed at the 1996 Atlanta Olympics, finishing fifth in the men's 10,000 metres race, won by Haile Gebrselassie. He was also fifth in the 1995 World Championships 10,000 metres race. Smail-3 is a mail transfer agent (MTA) used on Unix-like operating systems. It is Free Software and is licensed under the GNU GPL. It aims to be a general and flexible mailer with extensive facilities for checking incoming e-mail and for routing between disparate networks. Joseph Kimani (September 1, 1972 – November 1, 2012) was a Kenyan long-distance runner who competed over 10,000 metres on the track and in road running competitions. In his native country, he was commonly referred to as "KK" for Kimani Karanja. In other parts of the world, he was king of the road. He was the Superstar of most road races in the 1990s. Haile Gebrselassie ( am, ኀይሌ ገብረ ሥላሴ, ''haylē gebre silassē''; born 18 April 1973) is an Ethiopian retired long-distance track, road running athlete, and businessman. He won two Olympic gold medals and four World Championship titles over the 10,000 metres. He triumphed in the Berlin Marathon four times consecutively and also had three straight wins at the Dubai Marathon. Further to this, he earned four world titles indoors and was the 2001 World Half Marathon Champion. Jepkorir Ayabei
Joan Jepkorir Aiyabei (born 17 May 1979 in Uasin Gishu) is a Kenyan long-distance runner. In 1996, she finished in 5th place in the women's 5000 metres at the 1996 World Junior Championships in Athletics held in Sydney, Australia. She finished sixteenth at the 2002 World Cross Country Championships, but this was not enough to give her a place on the medal-winning team. She finished the season on a high note with a win at the Cross Internacional de Venta de Baños.
