1995–96 Liga Leumit
The 1995–96 Liga Leumit season began on 26 August 1995 and ended on 18 May 1996, with Maccabi Tel Aviv win their second consecutive title. That season had two rounds, each team played the other teams twice. The two teams that were relegated to Liga Artzit were: Maccabi Jaffa and Beitar Tel Aviv. Two team from Liga Artzit were promoted at the end of the previous season: Hapoel Kfar Saba and Maccabi Jaffa. The teams relegated were: Maccabi Netanya and Maccabi Ironi Ashdod. Israeli Premier League
The Israeli Premier League ( he, ליגת העל, ''Ligat Ha`Al'', ), is a professional association football league which operates as the highest division of the Israeli Football League – the state's league of Israel. The league is contested by 14 clubs, and operates on a system of promotion and relegation with its second division Liga Leumit. Seasons run from August to May, with teams playing between 33 and 36 matches each, totalling 240 matches in every season. The competition formed in 1999 following the decision of the Israel Football Association to form a new league. It is also ranked 21st in the UEFA coefficients of leagues based on performances in European competitions over the last five years. Alon Mizrahi
Alon Mizrahi ( he, אלון מזרחי; born 22 November 1971) is an Israeli former professional footballer who played for clubs including Nice, Maccabi Tel Aviv, Hapoel Tel Aviv, Hapoel Be'er Sheva, Maccabi Haifa and Beitar Jerusalem. His nickname is The Airplane, referring to the movement he used to do after scoring a goal. Reuven Atar
Reuven Atar ( he, ראובן עטר; born January 3, 1969) is a retired Israeli football player who was mostly known for his career in Maccabi Haifa and now he works as the manager of Bnei Lod. As a manager, he is mostly known for his work with Maccabi Netanya. Early life Atar was born in Tirat Carmel, Israel, to Sephardic Jewish immigrant parents from Morocco. During his adolescence, he played football for the Maccabi Haifa youth club. For many, he is one of the greatest players to ever wear the Haifa colors. Professional career After playing eight seasons for Maccabi Haifa and winning three titles for the club (The Toto Cup, and the Israeli Cup twice – one of which as both a Cup and a championship title at the same year), he joined the local rival team – Hapoel Haifa for four seasons, before being signed off to Beitar Jerusalem. The 1996–97 Liga Artzit season saw Hapoel Ashkelon win the title and earn promotion to the top division for the first time in their history. Ironi Ashdod were also promoted. Israel State Cup
The Israel State Cup ( he, גביע המדינה, ''Gvia HaMedina''), is a knockout cup competition in Israeli football, run by the Israel Football Association (IFA). The State Cup was first held in 1928 as the People's Cup. Because it involves clubs of all standards playing against each other, there is the possibility for " minnows" from the lower divisions to become "giant-killers" by eliminating top clubs from the tournament, although lower division teams rarely reach the final. The current holders of the State Cup are the Israeli Premier League club Hapoel Haifa, who beat Beitar Jerusalem in the 2018 final on May 9, 2018.
