The 1974–75 Alpha Ethniki was the 39th season of the highest football league of Greece. The season began on 29 September 1974 and ended on 8 June 1975. The Super League Greece 1 ( el, Ελληνική Σούπερ Λιγκ 1), or Super League 1, is the highest professional association football league in Greece. The league was formed on 16 July 2006 and replaced ''Alpha Ethniki'' at the top of the Greek football league system. It consists of 14 teams and runs from August to May, with teams playing 26 games. As of May 2022, Super League Greece is ranked 15th in the UEFA ranking of leagues, based on performances in European competitions over the last five years. Since the foundation of the first official Panhellenic Championship in 1927, only six clubs have won the title. The current champions are Olympiacos, based in Piraeus. Michalis Kritikopoulos
Michalis Kritikopoulos ( el, Μιχάλης Κρητικόπουλος; 3 January 1946 – 20 July 2002) was a Greek professional footballer who played as a striker. Career Born in Kaisariani, Kritikopoulosa began playing football as a striker for local side G.S. Kaisariani in 1962. In 1964, he joined Ethnikos Piraeus F.C., where he would play for nine seasons. In 1973, Kritikopoulosa joined Olympiacos where he played until 1980, winning three Alpha Ethniki and one Greek Football Cup titles. He finished his career with Apollon Athens F.C., retiring in 1981 at age 35. All told, Kritikopoulos scored 175 league goals making him one of the league's all-time leading goal-scorers. Kritikopoulos made 28 appearances and scored three goals for the Greece national team from 1969 to 1977. He made his debut in a friendly against Australia on 19 July 1969. 1974–75 Greek Football Cup
The 1974–75 Greek Football Cup was the 33rd edition of the Greek Football Cup. The competition culminated with the Greek Cup Final, held at Karaiskakis Stadium, on 18 June 1975. The match was contested by Olympiacos and Panathinaikos, with Olympiacos winning by 1–0. Panathinaikos competed with their reserve (youth) team, as a protest for the decision of the Hellenic Football Federation the final to be held in Karaiskakis Stadium, home ground of Olympiacos. Calendar Knockout phase In the knockout phase, teams play against each other over a single match. If the match ends up as a draw, extra time will be played. Panachaiki G.E. (Greek: Παναχαϊκή Γυμναστική Ένωση, ''Panachaiki Gymnastiki Enosi'', "Pan- Achaean Gymnastic Union") is a Greek multi-sport club based in the city of Patras, Greece. The history of Panachaiki began in 1891, when Panachaikos Gymnastikos Syllogos (Pan-Achaean Gymnastic Club) was founded. In 1894, a rival sports club, Gymnastiki Eteria Patron (Gymnastic Company of Patras), was founded in Patras by former Panachaikos' members. Gymnasticos Syllogos Iraklis ( el, Γυμναστικός Σύλλογος Ηρακλής, en, Gymnastics Club Heracles), commonly referred to as Iraklis, is a Greek multi-sports club based in Thessaloniki.
