The Takht Jamshid Cup's 1973–74 football season was the first season of Iranian national football league and the first season after the establishment of the Takht Jamshid Cup. Takht Jamshid Cup
The Takht Jamshid Cup ( fa, جام تخت جمشید, Jâm-e Taxt-e Jamšid) was a national football league based in Iran which lasted from 1973 to 1978. History Before 1970 Before 1970s, the tournament was called the Iranian Championship cup, but it was not regular and continuous. Most clubs participated in championships of their city or province. Therefore, the champion of the Tehran Premier League was seen as the Iranian football champion. Due to their achievements in the Tehran Premier League, Shahin Tehran and Taj, today known as Esteghlal, were the most popular teams at this time. Also Daraei and PAS Tehran were successful clubs in the local Tehran Province League. Hossein Kalani ( fa, حسین کلانی; born January 23, 1945 in Tehran) is a retired Iranian football striker who played for Shahin, Persepolis, Paykan Tehran, Shahbaz and the Iran national football team. Ali Jabbari
Ali Jabbari is an Iranian former football midfielder who played for Iran in the 1972 Summer Olympics. He also played for Taj SC. On 13 May 1972 during a group match at the 1972 AFC Asian Cup, Iran were trailing 2–0 to Thailand. Ali Jabbari turned the match around with a hat-trick in the space of 8 minutes, with goals in 80', 86' and 88', giving Iran first place in the group. He scored again in the final in which Iran beat South Korea. Safar Iranpak (23 December 1946 – 30 January 2009) was an Iranian football striker who played for Persepolis and the Iran national football team. Early life He was born in Masjed Soleyman on 23 December 1946. He started his playing career for his hometown team Shahin Ahvaz at the age of 12. Club career He was promoted to the first team squad of Shahin Ahvaz and joined Persepolis in summer 1968. He played twelve seasons for Persepolis and is the best goalscorer at Tehran derby. He is also the third all-time goalscorer of Persepolis. International career He was invited to the Iran national football team in 1971 and was a part of the title winning team at the 1972 AFC Asian Cup. Ghafour Jahani (born 19 June 1951 in Bandar Anzali, Iran) is an Iranian football coach and former player. He mostly played for Malavan. He was one of the key players of Malavan reaching the third place in the Iranian Takht Jamshid in 1978. 1974 and 1977 he was the second best scorer of the Iranian league. Gholam Hossein Mazloumi ( fa, غلامحسین مظلومی; 13 January 1950 – 19 November 2014), nicknamed ''Sar Talaei'' ("Golden Head"), was an Iranian football player, coach and football administrator. He played for three clubs including Taj Abadan, Taj Tehran (Esteghlal), and Shahbaz FC, as well as the Iranian national team and the national youth team of Iran. He also managed Esteghlal from 1988 to 1989. During his time as a football player, he scored 37 goals for the Iran national football team and was Iran's all-time top scorer for twelve years before his record being broken by Ali Daei. He was the top scorer at the 1974 Asian Games and the 1976 AFC Asian Cup. He was chairman of Shahin Bushehr from 2011 until 2013 and also honorary deputy chairman of Esteghlal.
