1954–55 Panhellenic Championship
The 1954–55 Panhellenic Championship was the 19th season of the highest football league of Greece. Olympiacos won their 11th championship (2 consecutive) unbeaten having 19 wins out of 20 total games and only one draw against Panathinaikos. The 6 clubs that participated in the final stage were as follows: *Athenian Championship: The first 2 teams of the ranking. * Piraeus' Championship: The champion. *Macedonian Championship: The champion. *Regional Championships: The 2 winners (Northern and Southern group). The qualifying round matches took place from 10 October 1954 to 13 February 1955, while the final phase took place from 20 February to 17 July 1955. Panhellenic Championship
The Super League Greece 1 ( el, Ελληνική Σούπερ Λιγκ 1), or Super League 1, is the highest professional association football league in Greece. The league was formed on 16 July 2006 and replaced ''Alpha Ethniki'' at the top of the Greek football league system. It consists of 14 teams and runs from August to May, with teams playing 26 games. As of May 2022, Super League Greece is ranked 15th in the UEFA ranking of leagues, based on performances in European competitions over the last five years. Since the foundation of the first official Panhellenic Championship in 1927, only six clubs have won the title. The current champions are Olympiacos, based in Piraeus. Giorgos Kamaras born Georgios Katrodavlis ( el, Γιώργος Καμάρας;5 May 1929 - 2000) was a Greek footballer. His name has been joined with the history of Apollon Athens. The stadium of Apollon Athens, in the Athenian district of Rizoupoli, is named Giorgos Kamaras Stadium after him. Elias Yfantis
Elias Yfantis ( el, Ηλίας Υφαντής; born 29 July 1936) is a Greek former professional football player who played as a striker and a later manager of Olympiacos. He was a key member of Olympiacos during the 1950's and 1960's. Biography Born in ''Aghia Sophia'' in Piraeus, Yfantis joined the senior side of Olympiacos F.C. at the age of 17. He played for the first time in an official match in 1953. He played as a forward and scored 225 career goals in all competitions. In A'Ethniki, he not only played in 58 games in three seasons and scored 30 goals, but he had also scored first for the historic struggle of Olympiacos in European competition against AC Milan (final score 2–2). Serious injuries forced him to quit football in 1964 at the age of 28. He made seven appearances and scored two goals for the Greece national football team, playing from 1957 to 1960.
