1946–47 Panhellenic Championship
The 1946–47 Panhellenic Championship was the 13th season of the highest football league of Greece. The form of the final round was decided after intense consultations and it was decided the teams that participated increased by 3 (6 out of 3) and resulted as follows: *Athenian Championship: The first 2 teams of the ranking. * Piraeus' Championship: The first 2 teams of the ranking. *Macedonian Championship: The first 2 teams of the ranking. The championship was won by Olympiacos after a hard battle with Iraklis and Panionios. As the championship advanced, Iraklis had the first say, being the leader of the standings and undefeated. Panhellenic Championship
The Super League Greece 1 ( el, Ελληνική Σούπερ Λιγκ 1), or Super League 1, is the highest professional association football league in Greece. The league was formed on 16 July 2006 and replaced ''Alpha Ethniki'' at the top of the Greek football league system. It consists of 14 teams and runs from August to May, with teams playing 26 games. As of May 2022, Super League Greece is ranked 15th in the UEFA ranking of leagues, based on performances in European competitions over the last five years. Since the foundation of the first official Panhellenic Championship in 1927, only six clubs have won the title. The current champions are Olympiacos, based in Piraeus. Ilias Papageorgiou
Ilias Papageorgiou ( el, Ηλίας Παπαγεωργίου; born 1 January 1925) was a Greek footballer who played as a forward and a later manager. Club career Papageorgiou started football at the age of 13 in AE Chromatourgion, as outside right alongside Andreas Mouratis. In 1943 he moved to Apollon Renti, where he played inside right, a position in which he established himself. In 1944 he joined Atromitos Piraeus where he played until 1949. Then he was called to Piraeus Mixed Team and for the first time to the National team, without making an appearanece. In 1949, he was transferred to AEK Athens without the consent of his club, as a result of which he was out of competition for two seasons according to the regulations at the time. He stayed at AEK until 1955, where in his first years he competed only in friendly matches and in 1950 he was called to the Athens Mixed Team.
