1895 Cork Senior Hurling Championship
The 1895 Cork Senior Hurling Championship was the ninth staging of the Cork Senior Hurling Championship since its establishment by the Cork County Board in 1887. Blackrock were the defending champions. On 3 November 1895, Blackrock won the championship following a 1–02 to 1–01 defeat of Ballyhea in the final. This was their sixth championship title and their third title in succession. Blackrock GAA
Blackrock National Hurling Club is a Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA) club located on the southside of Cork City, Ireland. The club was founded in 1883 and is primarily concerned with the game of hurling. No other Cork-based GAA club has won more Senior County Hurling titles or All-Ireland Club Championships. The club is sometimes known as 'The Rockies'. History Blackrock Hurling Club was officially founded in 1883, one year before the foundation of the Gaelic Athletic Association itself. It is therefore the oldest hurling club in Cork. Pat Coughlan
Pat "Parson" Coughlan (born 23 August 1867) was an Irish hurler who played as a left wing-back for the Cork senior team. Coughlan joined the team during the 1891 championship and was a regular member of the starting fifteen until his retirement after the 1899 championship. During that time he won two All-Ireland medals and two Munster medals. At club level Coughlan was an eight-time county club championship medalist with Blackrock. Playing career Club Coughlan played his club hurling with the Blackrock GAA club in Cork and enjoyed much success. He won his first senior county title in 1887 as 'the Rockies' captured the very first Cork county title. Coughlan added further county titles to his collection in 1889 and 1891. Ballyhea GAA
Ballyhea GAA is a hurling club in the village of Ballyhea in Cork, Ireland. The club is affiliated to the Avondhu, division of Cork GAA. As of 2015, the club was competing in the Cork Senior Hurling Championship. It does not field Gaelic football teams. History Ballyhea GAA Club has been in existence for over 126 years. The history of the club published in 1984 say the first GAA meeting took place in Jim Powers's Forge in the townland of Pruntas in late 1885 or early 1886. During its history the club has won County Championships in Senior, Intermediate, Junior and Juvenile Hurling. Mallow, County Cork
Mallow (; ) is a town in County Cork, Ireland, approximately thirty-five kilometres north of Cork. Mallow is in the barony of Fermoy. It is the administrative centre of north County Cork, and the Northern Divisional Offices of Cork County Council are located in the town. Mallow is part of the Cork East Dáil constituency.
