1894 Singapore Amateur Football Association Challenge Cup
1894 Singapore Amateur Football Association Challenge Cup was the third season of the Amateur Challenge Cup, the predecessor of the Singapore Cup. Two teams of the 10th Lincolnshire Regiment met in the final, which wasn't settled throughout six replays. After the sixth replay, all 22 players names were entered into a hat, and 11 names were drawn out a hat to receive winners' medals, 8 of them from the second team and 3 from the first team. Singapore Cup
The Singapore Cup is an annual knockout football competition in men's domestic Singaporean football. Established in 1998, it is the foremost football cup competition in the country. It is open to clubs in the Singapore Premier League. Since 2005, foreign teams from other countries in Southeast Asia are occasionally invited to compete in the Singapore Cup. Chonburi Province FC from Thailand was the first foreign club reaching the final in 2006 (they lost 3–2 in the final to local club Tampines Rovers). In 2009, Bangkok Glass became the second foreign team to reach the final, losing against local club Geylang United, but they beat Tampines Rovers in 2010 to become the first foreign winners of the Singapore Cup. Winners of the Singapore Cup gain qualification into the Asian continental club competition AFC Cup. Hougang United are the current holders, having beaten Tampines Rovers 3–2 at the 2022 final. 10th (North Lincoln) Regiment Of Foot
The Royal Lincolnshire Regiment was a line infantry regiment of the British Army raised on 20 June 1685 as the Earl of Bath's Regiment for its first Colonel, John Granville, 1st Earl of Bath. In 1751, it was numbered like most other Army regiments and named the 10th (North Lincoln) Regiment of Foot. After the Childers Reforms of 1881, it became the Lincolnshire Regiment after the county where it had been recruiting since 1781. Singapore Cricket Club
The Singapore Cricket Club (SCC) is one of the premier sports and social clubs in Singapore. Its clubhouse is located on Connaught Drive on the south end of the Padang in Singapore's central business district. History The SCC was established in 1837. Over the years, the club has had three clubhouse buildings on the Padang. The first was erected in the 1860s and the second in 1877. The third, which forms the core of the present-day clubhouse, was built in 1884. As the second oldest club in Singapore, the SCC today has over 3,000 members.
