The 14th Karnataka Legislative Assembly was constituted after the Karnataka Legislative Assembly elections in 2013. 224 constituencies went to the polls on May 5; the votes were counted on May 8; and the results were announced on May 11. Karnataka Legislative Assembly
The Karnataka Legislative Assembly is the lower house of the bicameral legislature of the Indian state of Karnataka. Karnataka is one of the six states in India where the state legislature is bicameral, comprising two houses. The two houses are the ''Vidhan Sabha'' (lower house) and the ''Vidhan Parishad'' (upper house). The members of the Legislative Assembly are directly elected by people through adult franchise. There are 224 members of the ''Legislative Assembly'' of Karnataka. Karnataka is divided into 224 constituencies used to elect the Legislative assembly members. Each constituency elects one member of the assembly. Members are popularly known as MLAs. The assembly is elected using the simple plurality or "first past the post" electoral system. The elections are conducted by the Election Commission of India. The normal term of the members lasts for five years. Belagavi Uttar (Vidhana Sabha Constituency)
Belagavi Uttar (North Belgaum) Assembly Seat is one of the seats in Karnataka Legislative Assembly in India. It is a segment of Belagavi (Lok Sabha constituency). The seat came into existence when the assembly map was redrawn in 2008. Prior to that most of its area was under the now defunct Uchagaon. Satish Jarkiholi
Satish Laxmanrao Jarkiholi (born 1 June 1962) is an INC politician & mass leader of Belgavi who served as the Minister of Forest, Ecology and Environment, Government of Karnataka from 22 December 2018 to 23 July 2019. He is currently serving as the Member of Karnataka Legislative Assembly representing the Yemakanmardi constituency since 2008. He was the forest and environment minister in the H. D. Kumarswamy cabinet. He is a former minister of Small scale Industries and also was a Minister of Excise in the Siddaramaiah cabinet. Ramesh Jarkiholi
Ramesh Jarkiholi (born 1 May 1960) an Indian politician, former minister of Water Resources in the Government of Karnataka, between 2020 and 2021. As member of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), he represents Gokak in the Karnataka Legislative Assembly. He previously served as the Minister for Municipal Administration. Jarkiholi is a six-time member of the Karnataka Legislative Assembly. In June 2016, he was inducted into the Siddaramaiah-led government of Karnataka as a cabinet minister. He held the Small Scale Industries Ministry portfolio. He was disqualified from the assembly as per the anti-defection law in 2019, but was re-elected to the assembly on a BJP ticket in December 2019.
