1999 Miami Hurricanes Baseball Team
The 1999 Miami Hurricanes baseball team represented the University of Miami in the 1999 NCAA Division I baseball season. The team was coached by Jim Morris (baseball coach), Jim Morris in his 6th season. Jim Morris (baseball Coach)
Jim Morris (born February 20, 1950) is an American college baseball coach who was the former head coach at the Miami Hurricanes baseball, University of Miami and Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets, Georgia Tech. His teams qualified for NCAA Division I Baseball Championship, NCAA Regionals for 32 consecutive years, 23 at Miami and nine at Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets, Georgia Tech. Morris won national championships in 1999 and 2001, and earned National Coach of the Year honors in both seasons. Early career Morris began his coaching career as an assistant at Appalachian State Mountaineers, Appalachian State in 1975. In 1976, he accepted the challenge of building, from scratch, a baseball program at Atlanta's DeKalb Community College. At DeKalb, Morris started with no players and no field, but he quickly made a name for himself. FIU Baseball Stadium, formerly known as University Park Stadium and Infinity Insurance Park, is a baseball stadium located on the campus of Florida International University in Westchester, Florida, United States. It is the home venue of the FIU Panthers college baseball team of the Division I Conference USA. Rosenblatt Stadium
Johnny Rosenblatt Stadium was a baseball stadium in Omaha, Nebraska, the former home to the annual NCAA Division I College World Series and the Triple-A Omaha Royals (now Storm Chasers). It was the largest minor league ballpark in the United States until its demolition ( Sahlen Field in Buffalo now holds the distinction). The final College World Series game at Rosenblatt Stadium was played on June 28, 2010 with the South Carolina Gamecocks winning the College World Series. The final game for the Royals in the stadium, and under the Royals name, was played on September 2, with the Royals defeating the Round Rock Express. The Omaha Nighthawks played their 2010 season at Rosenblatt. Following those events, Rosenblatt was replaced by TD Ameritrade Park Omaha (now Charles Schwab Field Omaha).
