Parodius Da! Shinwa Kara Owarai E
''Parodius! From Myth to Laughter'', released in Japan as and outside Japan as ''Parodius'' (from "Parody Gradius"), is a shoot 'em up arcade video game and the second title in the ''Parodius'' series produced by Konami. The European SNES, Sega Saturn and PlayStation versions are also known as ''Parodius: Non-Sense Fantasy''. The gameplay is stylistically very similar to the ''Gradius'' series, but the graphics and music are intentionally absurd. As a result of its localised title, ''From Myth to Laughter'' is often mistaken as the original game of the series. The lesser known original game, '' Parodius: The Octopus Saves the Earth'', was released for the MSX computer in Japan. Story Gameplay As stated above, gameplay is very similar to the ''Gradius'' series with a few differences. ''Parodius'' retains the selectability of different weapons configurations but implements it via four different characters: Vic Viper (from ''Gradius''), Octopus, TwinBee, and Pentarou. The s ... Special Criminal Investigation
''Special Criminal Investigation'', also known as ''S.C.I.'' for short or as ''Chase HQ II: Special Criminal Investigation'' in some home versions, is vehicular combat racing game published by Taito for arcades in 1989. It is the sequel to the 1988 game '' Chase H.Q.'' Unlike the first game, the player is able to fire at offending vehicles, with some cabinets containing buttons on the steering wheel, and others having a fire button on the gearshift, along with a button to activate the nitrous boost. The game brings back protagonists Tony Gibson and Det. Raymond Broady of the first game, and their second game appearance. Broady has taken over the driver's seat this time, while Gibson, as the passenger, serves as the gunman. Also, instead of Nancy, Karen is the officer delivering reports of whom the criminal is pursuing ... [...More Info...]       [...Related Items...]     OR:     [Wikipedia]   [Google]   [Baidu]   |

Columns (video Game)
is a match-three puzzle video game designed by Jay Geertsen and released in 1990. Originally developed for the Motorola 68000-based HP 9000 running HP-UX, it was ported to Mac and MS-DOS before being released commercially by Sega who ported it to arcades and then to several Sega consoles. The game was subsequently ported to other home computers, including the Atari ST. Gameplay ''Columns'' was one of the many tile-matching puzzle games to appear after the great success of ''Tetris'' in the late 1980s. The game itself is enclosed within a tall, rectangular playing area. Columns of three different symbols (such as differently-colored jewels) appear, one at a time, at the top of the well and fall to the bottom, landing either on the floor or on top of previously fallen "columns". While a column is falling, the player can move it left and right, and can also cycle the positions of the symbols within it. After a column lands, if three or more of the same symbols are connected in ... [...More Info...]       [...Related Items...]     OR:     [Wikipedia]   [Google]   [Baidu]   |

Final Lap
is a 1987 racing simulation video game developed and published by Namco. Atari Games published the game in the United States in 1988. It was the first game to run on Namco's then-new System 2 hardware and is a direct successor to Namco's ''Pole Position'' (1982) and '' Pole Position II'' (1983). It was ported to the Famicom by Arc System Works, making it Arc System Works' debut game. ''Final Lap'' was the first racing game to allow up to eight players to simultaneously race on the Suzuka Circuit in a Formula One race. This was, at the time, considered a revolutionary feature, and was implemented by linking together up to four two-player sitdown-style arcade cabinets. There was also a single-player mode, in which the player's score was based on how far the car traveled until time ran out or if the player completed four laps. It was a major commercial success in Japan, becoming the third highest-grossing arcade game of 1988, the highest-grossing dedicated arcade game of 1989, ... Motion Simulator
A motion simulator or motion platform is a mechanism that creates the feelings of being in a real motion environment. In a simulator, the movement is synchronised with a visual display of the outside world (OTW) scene. Motion platforms can provide movement in all of the six degrees of freedom (DOF) that can be experienced by an object that is free to move, such as an aircraft or spacecraft:. These are the three rotational degrees of freedom (roll, pitch, yaw) and three translational or linear degrees of freedom (surge, heave, sway). Types Motion simulators can be classified according to whether the occupant is controlling the vehicle(such as in a Flight Simulator for training pilots), or whether the occupant is a passive rider, such as in a simulator ride or motion theater. *Examples of occupant-controlled motion simulators are flight simulators, driving simulators, and hydraulic arcade cabinets for racing games and other arcade video games. Super Monaco GP
is a Formula One racing simulation video game released by Sega, originally as a Sega X Board arcade game in 1989, followed by ports for multiple video game consoles and home computers in the early 1990s. It is the sequel to the 1979 arcade game '' Monaco GP''. The arcade game consists of one race, the Monaco Grand Prix, but later ports added more courses and game modes based on the 1989 Formula One World Championship. The original concept for ''Super Monaco GP'' came from Hisao Oguchi, who was at the time a game planner with Sega. The arcade game contained parodies of actual brands that were sponsors in Formula One, which led to a lawsuit from Philip Morris over advertising of tobacco products. Shortly after the arcade game launch, ''Super Monaco GP'' was ported to Sega's video game consoles, the Genesis, Game Gear, and Master System. British developer U.S. Gold published ports for home computers. The arcade game was a major worldwide hit; in Japan, it was the third highest ...
