BMW 003
The BMW 003 (full RLM designation 109-003) is an early axial turbojet engine produced by BMW AG in Germany during World War II. The 003 and the Junkers Jumo 004 were the only German turbojet engines to reach production during World War II. Work had begun on the design of the BMW 003 before its contemporary, the Jumo 004, but prolonged developmental problems meant that the BMW 003 entered production much later, and the aircraft projects that had been designed with it in mind were re-engined with the Jumo powerplant instead. The most famous case of this was the Messerschmitt Me 262, which used the 003 in two of the V-series prototypes and in the two experimental A-1b aircraft. The only production aircraft to use the BMW 003 were the Heinkel He 162 and the later C-series, four-engined versions of the Arado Ar 234. About 3,500 BMW 003 engines were built in Germany, but very few were ever installed in aircraft. The engine also formed the basis for turbojet development in Japan ...

Tyrrell 003
The Tyrrell 003 is a Formula One (F1) racing car which was designed by Tyrrell Racing, Tyrrell's chief designer, Derek Gardner (motorsport), Derek Gardner and used in the and F1 seasons. It was driven by Jackie Stewart to the 1971 Formula One season, 1971 World Drivers' Championship. The 003 was effectively the same as the Tyrrell 001 with a redesigned nose section, longer wheelbase, and a narrower monocoque. Conception When Ken Tyrrell, the team's owner, became disenchanted with the poor performance of the March Engineering, March chassis during the season, he decided he would design and build his own car. He employed Derek Gardner to design it in secret at his own house. The project, codenamed "SP", which meant "Special Project", cost Tyrrell over £22,000 of his own money. The resulting car named Tyrrell 001 made its debut at Oulton Park in a non-championship race. After the season had finished, Gardner redesigned some sections of the car, altering the airbox, remodellin ...

BAR 003
The BAR 003 was the car with which the British American Racing team competed in the Formula One season. It was driven by Jacques Villeneuve, who was in his third year with the team, and Olivier Panis, who joined from a year out of racing as McLaren's test driver. The team had four test drivers who were Anthony Davidson, Darren Manning, Patrick Lemarié and Takuma Sato. The BAR 003 was officially launched at London, England on 26 January. Design The car was designed by Malcolm Oastler, who made use of the collaboration of Andrew Green of Reynard, an engineer with whom Jacques Villeneuve and Craig Pollock had already triumphed in the Indianapolis 500 and the 1995 American Formula Cart. In the field of aerodynamic development, the person responsible was Willem Toet, already at BAR since 1999. The project was conservative and the car was adapted to the new regulations: a curious spoon-shaped nose was introduced, with very thick and rounded profiles in the junction of the central ...

003 (album)
''003'' is the third studio album released by Serbian and former Yugoslav singer-songwriter Đorđe Balašević. While ''003'' featured the same poetics as Balašević's earlier albums, a marked change was its political stance, most prominently showcased by the album's cover. On the background collage of newspaper clippings about financial crime, loans and price hikes, an illustration of three wise monkeys provided Balašević's comment on the ongoing political and social turmoil in the country. A year after its release, Balašević commented on the album: :Initially, the songs I didn't care about, "Al' se nekad dobro jelo" and "Baby Blue", received airplay, and "Slovenska" was discovered only later. Today, this record is remembered only for "Slovenska", because that's a real song. He remarked that "Slovenska" was the first song on the album that came across his mind, but was the last to be finished. It was written and recorded in one day, which was also the last day in the rec ...

Type 003 Aircraft Carrier
''Fujian'' (18; ) is a Chinese aircraft carrier serving in the People's Liberation Army Navy. It is the third aircraft carrier of the Chinese aircraft carrier programme and the first of the Type 003 class (NATO/ OSD ''Fujian'' class). It succeeds the Type 002 ''Shandong'' which is described as a modified aircraft carrier. It is China's first indigenously designed carrier, and its first capable of catapult- assisted take-offs ( CATOBAR); previous Chinese carriers used ski-jumps ( STOBAR). ''Fujian'' was built by the Jiangnan Shipyard for the People's Liberation Army Navy (PLAN), launched on 17 June 2022, and started sea trials in May 2024. In 2019, analyst Robert Farley believed that ''Fujian'' would be the "largest and most advanced aircraft carrier ever built outside the United States". Design ''Fujian''s class was originally designated by observers as Type 002. At the time, the class of the incomplete was thought to be Type 001A. ''Shandong'' was officially confirmed as a T ...

ABO Blood Group System
The ABO blood group system is used to denote the presence of one, both, or neither of the A and B antigens on erythrocytes (red blood cells). For human blood transfusions, it is the most important of the 47 different blood type (or group) classification systems currently recognized by the International Society of Blood Transfusions (ISBT) as of December 2022. A mismatch in this serotype (or in various others) can cause a potentially fatal adverse reaction after a transfusion, or an unwanted immune response to an organ transplant. Such mismatches are rare in modern medicine. The associated anti-A and anti-B antibodies are usually IgM antibodies, produced in the first years of life by sensitization to environmental substances such as food, bacteria, and viruses. The ABO blood types were discovered by Karl Landsteiner in 1901; he received the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine in 1930 for this discovery. ABO blood types are also present in other primates such as apes, ...

ABO (gene)
Histo-blood group ABO system transferase is an enzyme with glycosyltransferase activity, which is encoded by the ''ABO'' gene in humans. It is ubiquitously expressed in many tissues and cell types. ABO determines the ABO blood group of an individual by modifying the oligosaccharides on cell surface glycoproteins. Variations in the sequence of the protein between individuals determine the type of modification and the blood group. The ''ABO'' gene also contains one of 27 SNPs associated with increased risk of coronary artery disease. Alleles The ''ABO'' gene resides on chromosome 9 at the band 9q34.2 and contains 7 exons. The ''ABO'' locus encodes three alleles, that is, 3 variants of the same gene. One allele is derived from each parent. The A allele produces α-1,3-N-acetylgalactosamine transferase (A-transferase), which catalyzes the transfer of GalNAc residues from the UDP-GalNAc donor nucleotide to the Gal residues of the acceptor H antigen, converting the H antigen int ...
