Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality
The Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (, Ä°BB) is the government agency in charge of the municipal affairs of the Istanbul Province. It is one of the 30 metropolitan municipalities in Turkey. History The Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality was established on 23 March 1984, following the enactment of the metropolitan municipality act on 8 March 1984. Initially, the municipality covered only the urban centers of Istanbul, which accounted for 35% of the Istanbul Province. The rest of the province was administered by the Istanbul Special Provincial Administration. The Bosporus or Bosphorus Strait ( ; , colloquially ) is a natural strait and an internationally significant waterway located in Istanbul, Turkey. Levent
Levent is a neighbourhood in the municipality and district of Beşiktaş, Istanbul Province, Turkey. Its population is 2,911 (2022). It is one of the main business districts of Istanbul located on the European side of the city. It is situated to the north of the Golden Horn, at the western shore of the Bosphorus strait. Levent, together with nearby Maslak, is one of the main business districts on the European side of the city, where numerous skyscraper projects are currently under construction or in the planning phase. Galata Tower
The Galata Tower (), officially the Galata Tower Museum (), is a medieval Genoese tower in the Galata part of the BeyoÄŸlu district of Istanbul, Turkey. Built as a watchtower at the highest point of the mostly demolished Walls of Galata, the tower is now an exhibition space and museum, and a symbol of BeyoÄŸlu and Istanbul. Istanbul Nostalgic Tramways
The Istanbul nostalgic tramways are two heritage streetcar, heritage tramlines in the city of Istanbul, Turkey. The city has two completely separate heritage tram systems, one on the European side (the Taksim-Tünel Nostalgia Tramway, aka. T2 line), the other on the Asian side (T3 line, aka. the Kadıköy-Moda Nostalgia Tramway).
