Petr Čech
Petr Čech (; born 20 May 1982) is a Czech former professional Association football, footballer who played as a Goalkeeper (association football), goalkeeper and current ice hockey player who plays as a goaltender for Oxford City Stars. He has been described as one of the greatest goalkeepers of all time, and, by some, as the greatest goalkeeper, alongside Peter Schmeichel, in Premier League history. Čech began his senior career at FK Chmel Blšany, Chmel Blšany in 1999, where he played sporadically for two seasons prior to relocating to AC Sparta Prague, Sparta Prague in 2001. At age 19, Čech became a first team regular, and his single campaign with the club saw him register a league record of not conceding a goal in 903 competitive minutes. In mathematics, specifically algebraic topology, Čech cohomology is a cohomology theory based on the intersection properties of open set, open cover (topology), covers of a topological space. It is named for the mathematician Eduard Čech. Motivation Let ''X'' be a topological space, and let \mathcal be an open cover of ''X''. Eduard Čech
Eduard Čech (; 29 June 1893 – 15 March 1960) was a Czech mathematician. His research interests included projective differential geometry and topology. He is especially known for the technique known as Stone–Čech compactification (in topology) and the notion of Čech cohomology. He was the first to publish a proof of Tychonoff's theorem in 1937. Biography He was born in Stračov, then in Bohemia, Austria-Hungary, now in the Czech Republic. His father was Čeněk Čech, a policeman, and his mother was Anna Kleplová. After attending the gymnasium in Hradec Králové, Čech was admitted to the Philosophy Faculty of Charles University of Prague in 1912. In 1915 he was drafted into the Austro-Hungarian Army and participated in World War I, after which he completed his undergraduate degree in 1918. František Ringo Čech
František Ringo Čech (born 9 July 1943) is a Czech musician, politician, and writer. Life and career Early musical career: 1959–1965 František Čech was born in Prague in 1943 to František Čech Pražský, a musician of Viennese origin. From 1959 to 1963, he worked as a radio mechanic and television technician, while playing drums in various Dixieland and brass ensembles, such as Storyville Jazz, which also included Ivan Mládek and Ivo Pešák. In 1963, he cofounded the rock band Olympic together with Jaromír Klempíř, and began writing song lyrics for the first time. He studied drums at the Prague Conservatory from 1963 to 1965, as well as folklore, piano, and recorder. In December 1965, he travelled to the United States with the Jiří Srnec black light theatre, where his wife, Magda, performed, thus ending his stint with Olympic. Vladimír Čech (6 July 1951 – 22 March 2013) was a Czech actor, presenter and politician. Early life Čech was the son of anchorwoman Heda Čechová (1928–2020) and actor of the same name, Vladimír Čech (1916–1990). Svatopluk Čech (21 February 1846 – 23 February 1908) was a Czechs, Czech writer, journalist and poet. Biography Čech was born in Ostředek. Kateřina Čechová (; born 21 March 1988 in Brno) is a Czech Athletics (sport), athlete who specialises in the 100 metres, 100 m and 200 metres, 200 m sprints. Čechová won the 100 metres at the Czech Athletics Championships in 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011 and 2012. Martin Čech
Martin Čech (June 2, 1976 in Havlíčkův Brod – September 6, 2007 in Havlíčkův Brod) was a Czech ice hockey defenceman. Čech played in the Czech Extraliga for HC Zlín and HC Lasselsberger Plzeň before moving to Finland's SM-liiga, spending one season with JYP and two seasons with Pelicans. He then moved to the Russian Super League playing for Metallurg Magnitogorsk, HC Sibir Novosibirsk and Salavat Yulaev Ufa before returning to the Extraliga for HC Moeller Pardubice. He also represented the Czech Republic at international level. Čech was killed in a car crash on September 6, 2007.
