Lyric Suite (Berg)

Alban Berg's Lyric Suite (1925–1926) is a six-movement string quartet using twelve-tone technique. Publicly dedicated to Alexander Zemlinsky (and quoting his Lyric Symphony), Berg secretly dedicated it to Hanna Fuchs-Robettin as program music about their romance and its dissolution. He arranged three of the movements as pieces for string orchestra in 1928.
