Hypha

A hypha (from Ancient Greek (huphḗ)'web'; pl.hyphae) is a long, branching, filamentous structure of a fungus, oomycete, or actinobacterium. In most fungi, hyphae are the main mode of vegetative growth, and are collectively called a mycelium.
