In Greek mythology, Calliope ( ; Ancient Greek: Καλλιόπη, romanized: Kalliópē, lit.'beautiful-voiced') is the Muse who presides over eloquence and epic poetry, so called from the ecstaticharmony of her voice. Hesiod and Ovid called her the "Chief of all Muses".
