Bayezid I's Anatolian campaigns

Sultan Bayezid I launched several campaigns into Anatolia in response to the anti-Ottoman activities of the Anatolian beyliks . As a result of these campaigns, Sultan Bayezid I brought the Anatolian beyliks under Ottoman rule. Following the subsequent Ottoman - Timurid conflict, the Ottoman Empire entered a period of interregnum, and the rulers of the Anatolian beyliks re-established their dominance in their former territories.
