Go Youn-jung

Go Youn-jung (; born on April 22, 1996) is a South Korean actress and model. She made her acting debut in the television series ''He Is Psychometric'' (2019) and gained recognition for her supporting role in the Netflix production '' Sweet Home'' (2020). She is also known for her work in the series ''Law School'' (2021), ''Alchemy of Souls'' (2022–2023), '' Moving'' (2023), ''Death's Game'' (2023–2024), ''Resident Playbook'' (2025) as well the film ''Hunt'' (2022).

Early life

Go was born on April 22, 1996, in Seoul, South Korea, and attended Seoul Women's University, where she studied contemporary art.

Career

2019–present: Modelling career

After graduating from Seoul Women's University, Go joined MAA Entertainment as a model and actress. She first did modeling for various commercials of Sports, Nike, Giorgio Armani, Ritz Crackers, and several commercials for SK Telecom. In 2021, she was named the ambassador for the French luxury jewelry house Boucheron, while in November 2022, she became the new brand muse for Marithé et François Girbaud.

In February 2023, Go was featured in advertisements for Dior. Throughout the year, she was selected as an advertising model by Philippine-based clothing brand Penshoppe, Carrot Insurance, Discovery Expedition (an outdoor clothing brand), and Ryo Hair.

Go's modelling career continued in 2024, signing endorsement contracts with the hair brand Vodana, chicken franchise restaurant Puradak Chicken and NH Nonghyup Bank. In April, she shot a commercial for Sangkwaehwan Booster Zero, a hangover relief drink launched in January. In May, she attended Chanel's 2024/25 Cruise Collection show held in Marseille, France, marking her first Chanel show after being selected as the brand ambassador.

In January 2025, Go has been selected as the new muse for jewelry brand Didier Dubot.

2019–present: Acting career

2019–2021: Acting debut

In 2019, after expressing interest and talent in acting, Go Yoon-jung made her acting debut in the television series ''He Is Psychometric'', playing Kim So-hyun.

In 2020, she made a highly praised cameo in the Korean Netflix television series ''The School Nurse Files'', and in the same year, she appeared in the smash hit Netflix television series '' Sweet Home'' as Park Yu-ri, a sad caretaker with a tragic past. This role led to additional praise and acknowledgement.

In 2021, she starred as Jeon Yeseul in ''Law School'' and earned acknowledgment for her portrayal of a law student suffering from dating violence. In March 2021, Go was cast in her first film, a South Korean espionage action thriller film titled ''Hunt.'' The film was by Lee Jung-jae in his feature directorial debut, starring Lee and Jung Woo-sung. In April, it was reported that Go would also be making a special appearance in tvN period fantasy series ''Alchemy of Souls'', while on October 29, she was confirmed as part of the cast of the adaptation of Kang Full's webtoon '' Moving''.

2022–present: Breakthrough roles

In 2022, Go officially made her film debut with the release of the action thriller ''Hunt''. Her performance garnered critical acclaim, leading to her being nominated for Best New Actress at the 31st Buil Film Awards, 58th Grand Bell Awards, 43rd Blue Dragon Film Awards, and 59th Baeksang Arts Awards.

In June 2022, Go's brief appearance as the skilled assassin Nak-su in Part 1 of tvN period fantasy series ''Alchemy of Souls'' was broadcast. Later in December, she returned as the female lead in Part 2 of the series, ''Alchemy of Souls: Light and Shadow,'' where she portrayed an amnesiac priestess named Jin Bu-yeon and starred alongside Lee Jae-wook.

In 2023, Go starred in two streaming series. '' Moving'' was broadcast on Disney+ from August 9 to September 20, 2023. In the series, Go played the role of Jang Hui-soo, who inherits superpowers from her father Jang Ju-won (Ryu Seung-ryong), who possesses healing abilities and superhuman strength. For her portrayal, Go received the Best New Actress Award at the 2023 Asia Contents Awards & Global OTT Awards and the 3rd Blue Dragon Series Awards. ''Death's Game'', where she made a special appearance as Lee Ji-su, a novelist in a relationship with Choi Yi-jae (Seo In-guk), was broadcast on TVING in December.

In 2024, Go worked on two series. She completed filming tvN drama ''Resident Playbook'', a spin-off of ''Hospital Playlist'', originally scheduled for 2024, where she was cast as Oh Yi-young, a first-year obstetrics and gynaecology resident at Jongno Yulje Hospital. Following the drama's release on April 12, 2025, she ranked first on Good Data Corporation's list of the most buzzworthy actors from the third week of April until the second week of May. Despite a one-year delay, the drama was successful, earning Go a reward trip to Bali with the cast and crew. She also received praise for her performance and character development.

Filming for upcoming Netflix series '' Can This Love Be Translated?'', directed by Yoo Young-eun, wrapped on February 5, 2025. This project will mark Go first leading role in romantic comedy genre and her reunion with the Hong sisters, as she portrays Cha Mu-hee, a top actress. The series is slated for a premiere in the fourth quarter of 2025.
