Zhang Ke would make his senior club debut on June 20, 2004, for
Shenyang Ginde Guangzhou City Football Club () was a Chinese professional football club which last competed in the Chinese Super League. The team was based in Guangzhou, Guangdong. The club's name between 2011 and 2020 was Guangzhou R&F, which was short for ' ...
in a league game vs Liaoning Zhongyu that Shenyang Ginde lost 1–0. After that game Zhang would gradually start to establish himself within the Shanyang team and go on to play in ten league games for the team at the end of the season, however his development would be halted when it was discovered that he took a banned drug during December 2004 and was banned from playing for two months despite claims that he took the drug by mistake. Being out for such a period saw Zhang having to re-establish himself within the team and it was only during the 2006 league season did he start to become a regular first team member. This did not continue the following season and he only featured in ten more league games for the recently relocated and renamed
