Early life

In elementary school, Yoo played competitive badminton, but later decided to focus on her studies. She started playing football when she was in high school first grade, after she heard about the foundation of the Gwangyang Girls' High School football team and went to try-outs. She went on to play for

Club career

Ahead of the 2007 football season, Yoo transferred from Chungnam Ilhwa to
Daekyo Kangaroos Icheon Daekyo Women's Football Club () was a South Korean Women's association football, women's football team based in Icheon, Gyeonggi-do. It was founded in 2002 and competed in the WK League, the top division of women's football in South Korea, ...
as part of a direct trade between the two clubs. On 6 October 2008, Yoo announced her retirement from football.
