from 1592 to 1593. He was Deputy Lieutenant and was commissioner for musters from 1595. In November 1599 in an improved financial situation, he bought the manor of Pixham, Worcestershire but in 1602 had to sell other property in the manor of Acton Beauchamp. He was knighted in 1603. /ref> Lygon died at the age of about 60. Lygon married Elizabeth Harwell, daughter of Edward Harwell of Besford, in around 1590 and had three sons and two daughters. His son William, who inherited the encumbered estates, had to sell off more of them.
