. The same day, the charges against Smallwood were dropped when prosecutors claimed Smallwood agreed to cooperate and testify at trial, Lloyd pleaded guilty to second-degree murder. In November 2024, Smallwood was charged with wire fraud, conspiracy to commit wire fraud, and conspiracy to defraud the Internal Revenue Service. These charges may result in Smallwood facing up to 50 years in prison. Authorities also believe Smallwood of being involved in a conspiracy to defraud COVID-19 relief programs.
