The station opened in 1900 as it was the last station on the Potteries Loop Line and the first to close to passengers in 1943 at the height of the Second World War until 1966 general goods traffic remained with oil traffic continuing until trains from Walker's Century Oils Now "Fuchs Oil" ceased sending the trains by 1969 and the line was lifted Thus ending over 100 years of the Potteries Loop Line. No trace of the station remains today, the station was at the road crossing on Waterloo Road between Hanley and Cobridge.
